Pulled the 325 in the shop for some finishing touches.

Had this oil press gauge on the front, which I like, but it was too exposed.

I drilled a hole and rerouted the line inside the steering tower with a new gauge housing. Looks factory to me.

Pulled the traction apart again to replace a few more bushings.

You can see how worn they were, it was almost metal to metal.

Tomorrow the side discharge deck goes on. It will be the first run of the deck after restoration.

I like your oil pressure gauge improvement .

Any update on the side discharge deck?

The SD is going on this 325 soon. Need to get this thing out of my garage so I can park the truck in there again...lol.

Next order of business is pulling the recycler deck inside and giving it a thorough inspection and tune up. Shouldn’t need near the amount of attention the SD needed, but won’t know till I tear into it.

Faxman,
Have you ever replaced the hydraulic pump input seal? Doesn’t look like too bad of a job (For warmer weather) but I will need a new one soon.

You can see the drips of oil on my driveway from the input seal leak. It only drips while driving though, which is strange. Maybe it is the output seal to the rear ended that is leaking? The drips are 2-3’ apart.

Wanted to post some observations of my rotary broom now that I have used it through a few snow storms.

39A23162-E3BF-4808-99A2-3F3186101977.jpeg

It clears between 4-5” of snow max if it is dry. Much less if it’s wet/slushy.

You can do more than 5” if you do multiple passes. Use caution if doing multiple passes, because the snow that is left behind the broom will decrease traction of the unit.

If snow is driven on first, it will not remove the packed down snow.

Overall traction is good as long as you let the broom clear ahead of you. I am not using chains, but they would be helpful if you are doing multiple passes or on steep hills.

You can see how good of a job it does from the above pic. My snowblower did an OK job, but it left a thin layer of snow that would then freeze at night.

No.

Good luck, and post pictures when you do it.

Thanks for the report on the broom .

Hello,

I'm not new here but don't believe I posted before..

I Acquire a 93 Groundsmaster 325D 2x4... I'm wanting to know if there is a way to convert it to 4x4 as I'd like to use this Engine and Hydro Drive train for a tractor build that I'm planning. I'm not sure if I would need a completely different hydrostatic trans or if there is a conversion kit for it.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Need more info. Are you building a new frame or using the original?

What will you use for the steering axle?

This is a 4x4 325D, model number 30795, it has a driveshaft from the front axle to the rear steering axle:

Key in the model number for the 4x4 and click Search:

Then select the parts drawings for 1993:

Your 4x2 is model number 30788, if you want to compare the parts.

Thanks for the reply! Mine looks identical to yours in that pic but with only 2wd setup. I will be building a new frame. Kubota style with all of the appropriate gussets and such to mount everything including my Toro Wheelhorse 520h sheet metal (Obviously with some modifications where needed). I have a Kubota BX 2200 front 4x4 axle and wheels that are in great condition that will be part of the build that is driveshaft driven.

So I wasn't sure if there was a 4x4 conversion kit for the current model I have (93 325D Groundsmaster) that I could adapt into the build. Are there actual kits based off of certain models for this type of conversion or am IK looking at a parts swap or trans rebuild of sorts?

Thanks.

So I would need a 4x4 Front Axle from a 325D or similar 4x4?
