Anyone ever "delete" the dpf on a tractor?

I deleted the crappy emission equipment on my 2014 F250 diesel within a month after I bought it used in 2018. That was after the DEF heaters went out. Now my truck is much more environmentally sound as my MPG is better and I don't have to buy plastic jugs of DEF fluid.

To the op who started the thread, yes you can do a "delete". The tractors concerned had the dpf deleted and the rest of the engine setting left standard. There have been zero problems as a result.
Re axelpops, post 54, As of this year or last year,it is illegal to operated a pre2010 emissions truck BASED in California, BUT there is a CUTOFF date for OUT OF STATE trucks as well. I don't know when that starts.
Good old Commifornia.

Some people talked about their pickup trucks.
In some states, they will pull you over if you just have a gooseneck with a tractor or hay. Commercial or not. Scales, emissions, whole deal. Personally I've never been stopped. I do not run diesel trucks, but have ran heavy.

I don't believe I've ever seen a tractor trailer pulled over by law enforcement.

LOL I've been to WY a few times (Buffalo) there's like 3 people in the whole state. It's no wonder you've never seen it :) (just messing around)

I got pulled over 3 years ago for an “alleged low air in one tire”.
He checked under my truck.
After finding nothing, he let me go.
Glad I didn’t have anything deleted under there. Never have & never will.

If you run DOT numbers on your door, you become fair game for a truck meter maid. I do and you are 100% correct. I don't have any emissions stuff on my truck but it's old enough that they wouldn't have a clue anyway. I have to here in Michigan because my GCCW is more than 15 K loaded. I should really have a log book as well but I don't keep one. Farmers usually get the benefit of the doubt, usually. Buddy got stopped and ticketed for an overwidth load of round bales loaded side by side. He runs 5x5 rounds and two side by side makes him overwidth. 10 foot is more than the allowable max width of 108". Cost him a couple hundred plus he had to get it legal right there as well and that was on a 2 lane country road.

All depends on who the officer is and your attitude. You get a dick, you get screwed.

???
Drive I-80 across Nevada. Seems like Nevada DOT officers have an 18 wheeler pulled over every few miles.

Makes no sense. In PA, agriculture is allowed to be 12’ wide. I see guys going down the road over width with bales all the time.
102” is standard max width for everything else.
Also, you don’t need a log book unless you are running apportioned plates. I actually gave up my apportioned plates years ago because I hated log books
