laurencen,

The important thing is that your hydraulics on your Toolcat 'match' the Blower Motor. If you find that the performance is not optimal you can pull the Blower Motor and have a hydraulic shop rework the motor to match. It will be far cheaper than a new motor. I ended up re-working the blower motor on the Erskine unit to match and if memory serves it it was about $250+/-.

well found the kit for 610 dollars, on its way will update how the install goes,

this vintage Toolcat is 44hp and standard flow, how well does it work with the snow blower? I also have a V-blade that may be better suited on it,

with my 590 it has high flow, blower works awesome but the machine does not have the ground speed to take advantage of the v-blade

thanks for all the replies

As stated in a previous post, I also have the Series A Toolcat and run a snow blower. With lower hydraulic flow, mine was set up with a high torque low speed motor. It doesn't throw snow as far as the higher flow motors, but it never "stalls" the blower motor.

I also run an 8 foot plow on the front. It works great to about 6 inches of snow. Past that, I just don't have the weight to push snow and switch out to the blower. I run around 1000 pounds of ballast in the bed to help with traction but past 6 inches the wet heavy snow in my area is too heavy for the Toolcat to push.

weather was a bit warmer today so installed the kit, pretty easy with the exception of the locating the connector thro the cab, instructions call for it to be 2 1/2 inches below and left of the bracket passenger side by the fuse box, if you locate it here it puts half the hole on the fender mounting bracket, I chose to the left of the fuse box, and as always when removing bolts namely the one holding hydraulic lines to the boom the bolt sheared off

after install I mounted the snowblower, I do have the high flow blower, anyway it worked great, does not throw it as far as the 590 but adequate

total time 1 1/2 hours

quick update, today we had 6 inches of snow, got the Toolcat going and played with the blower, its throwing is decent considering the blower is high flow and Toolcat is standard flow, going thro drifts of 2 feet the throw was 30 feet and down to 20 feet if I pushed it, not sure I like the 2 toggle switches in the center console to control the blower but its how the kit arrived.

all in all the kit was worth the price and nothing better than blowing snow in a comfy cab

Im interested in some of the information here. I want to add a box that has up, down, left, right on it so I can control the blower shoot and joystick with one hand. I have in my mind that it would be easy to tap the wires on the console switches into my box and have the ability to "one hand control" the beast. anyone with thoughts on this???

the way its now, the joystick button turns the auxiliary on to send fluid to the blower, then on dash a up/down for chute and left/right to rotate the chute, both switches are momentary center off, be easy to do

that is sort of my thinking. I purchased a plow controller from Northern and as I said it has touch buttons for the four way controls. its just inconvenient to have to look down and let go of the joystick to move your chute while your moving. this controller has 6 wires, power, ground and 4 buttons so I will be giving it a try this weekend. going to put it on a plug in system so that I can unhook it for the summer.

What i have learn so far about attachment.
About (90%) of Attachement compagnies maker have (as an option) connector kit that match the prime mover.
Price is very different from each compagny.

Ex: I bought a used (5/10) plowmaxx from métal Pless that came with an extra controler (2 × bouton) that are tape to my toolcat joystick.
I called them about a bobcat (7 pin kit) and learned that it was available for : (1,450.00 $ cad) installed.

My friend did the same for his snowblower To connect it to a Caterpilar skid steer for (800.00$ usd) Not instaled.

Now i always ask for it (bobcat 7 pin kit) to be includ in the price when shopping attachment.
