that is sort of my thinking. I purchased a plow controller from Northern and as I said it has touch buttons for the four way controls. its just inconvenient to have to look down and let go of the joystick to move your chute while your moving. this controller has 6 wires, power, ground and 4 buttons so I will be giving it a try this weekend. going to put it on a plug in system so that I can unhook it for the summer.
one thing I had considered is to 3d print a housing for 2 of the momentary switches that would mount on the steering wheel, the switches could be such that I could use my thumbs to activate, its only 2 switches the auxiliary to activate the blower would still be on the joystick
then the left thumb works the chute up/down the right thumb works the chute rotation, thoughts on this concept, it would require a coil phone cord to allow the steering to be turned for steering, it would be nice to move the chute when in motion, allows one to dump the snow in a pile
