All your CAPS are making my ears ring too!:)
I'm already on record as preferring cab-free *for my uses*.
Whats next? a TV in the cab with a satellite dish on the roof?

MAN... why didnt i think about that. now i have to find a 12v tv and 12v sat receiver with an auto alignment dish.

time to hit ebay.

I thought his YELLING was a result of the hearing damage from the noise in his cab:)
The TV would be good but the dish might be a problem with low branches;)

Howdy,

The cab option is really going to depend on the size and horsepower of the tractor. It will also depend on the uses of the tractor with your land. Cabs on small little tractors really only help for cold blowing snow and such. Larger tractors have well made, well thought out cabs. Larger tractors are made with the idea of having the cab, and as such, it is built around it. (70hp and above) It seems the smaller tractors cabs are a add-on. Something which is cobbled together and put on it.
2 cab tractors here(135hp, 100hp) with 2 open station tractors (48hp, 35hp)
Long 15 hour days mowing, or bush hogging or baling, or collecting rolls, make having the cab fantastic. Winter time feeding with heated cab and heated seat... mmmmmmm good.

Welcome to TBN POPB.

First, was your cab a factory model or an add-on? If an add-on; I'd bet that why it was noisier than you had expected.

Second, just a friendly suggestion to not use all CAPS when writing online and in emails as it;s considered shouting in Internet etiquette (a.k.a. Netiquette).

I PURCHASED A KUBOTA B3030 WITH A CAB
I HATED IT! IT MADE MY HEAD HURT
IT HAD A HIGH PITCH DRONE IN IT, NOT WELL INSULATED
THE CAB WAS NOISY AND CONFINING
USED IT 25 HOURS AND TRADED IT FOR A B3030 WITHOUT CAB
I LIKE THE FACT I CAN SEE BETTER AND FEEL MORE OPEN

very odd indeed. my cab is so nice and quiet...i can fall asleep in there.

All 3 of my kids have fallen asleep in the cab. I love having a cab in the winter, there's no doubt. I'd prefer not to have a cab in the summer. I'm thinking of just opening all the windows and taking the doors off this summer, but I'll see how it goes.

Not to start a war, but smaller Kubotas have a god awefull HST whine, as did my JD 955. I had an aftermarket cab on the JD, and yes, it was VERY loud. I had a radio, but it had to be turned up so loud to beat out the noise of the HST and rattle of the tractor, it would give you an instant headache.

I like my aftermarket Simms cab. Of course I didnt spend over $20,000 for a tractor either because all I needed was used. No heater, no A/C, no radio and no garage so it is always dry and snow free. I like it plowing snow and take the doors off in summer. I don't brush hog or plow fields. It is louder than a open cab but safer when working in the woods. BUT it is more difficult to mount and exit, which I do a lot of.
IF I was to buy a new tractor it would have a cab.
