Anyone try the Holzfforma Fuel/oil container?

Unfortunately, my much liked Husqvarna fuel & oil refueling container broke. The auto shut off feature for the fuel side stays stuck open.
I really like this container and have used the heck out of it.
Bought it for like $40 in 2019.
Now they are $150.
I see there are replacement nozzles for other types, but haven’t found for Husq.

Found this

You may have already tried this, but have you searched using the term "fuel dolmar"? Apparently dolmar used to be a brand prior to being bought out... at least in the wildland fire world the term has become somewhat synonymous with combined fuel/oil jerrys.

Would something like this fit the bill?

The one Farmertec copied in the older version of the husky one before ours we have now and they also did the stihl one too if I recall right.

I’m going to try the replacement nozzle for $47 (must be gold plated, right?) and one of the new fangled Chinese Holzfforma cans

I have a brand new spring loaded nozzle in shop unused since 2018. Have yet to come across it on the shelves since put in there. 🤦‍♂️ 😂

Guess I could retire again if it ever turns up.

Let us know how the Holzforma can works. I wasn't impressed with the quality of the plastics on the Farmertec saws I bought but that was a few years ago. Maybe they have improved.

For $350 I wonder if they're having to smuggle them in past the EPA. The spouts work really well and don't drip or leak any gas, as long as you're filling a saw with the right size opening. They work better than the NoSpill spouts.

Check out the nozzles on the stihl version one they sell. They remind me of the ones on our newer husky one.

Man all this is confusing lol 😂

That's just STUPID advice.

The effective compression ratio of modern two strokes is no better than 8 or 9 to one. High Octane is just so much fluey!
Ethanol is a carburettor component issue. I've had good luck, but I'm not opposed to taking a carb apart to unstick the sticky parts.
I'm 73, and "able" is no reason to buy a fuel can with stupid features.
Is not advice.
What does your saw owners manual say about fuel?

I could not care less what the owner's manual reads.
I take care of my own stuff.
I fix it if it breaks.
My Husky saw is 10 years old at least, and the Mac 10-10 is 30 years old or more.
Neither has ever had a problem.

Both work every time .

virtually all small engines state in the owners manual to only use premium gas, without Ethanol.

Is not advice.
What does your saw owners manual say about fuel?

The owners manual for my 562 XP says:

"Do not use gasoline with an octane grade less than 90 RON/87 AKI." Gas sold at the pump in the USA is rated at the average of the two, so 88.5 minimum. No one reports partial points of octane, so 89, to be safe. That's mid grade gas around here.

The manual also says "Use good quality unleaded gasoline with a maximumof 10% ethanol contents."

I don't run ethanol gas in any of my small engines, despite the fact that most small engine manufacturers say that up to 10% ethanol is OK. Since the only non-ethanol fuel available here (other than the canned stuff - way too expensive) is premium, that's what I buy.

Had the husky oem one out using yesterday trimming up some fruit trees.

It's so nice if going into the hills with these to carry one thing with the saw. Bar oil and mix plus. Holds tools, extra chains, files, plug, etc. 1 hand for this and 1 for saw. Easy peasy.

I just wish I knew where my other nozzle is like you need. It's in my shop/garage somewhere never used.

But being 48x32 with many shelves up around 8' high. I may never come across it.

This is 2 of 10-12 of these. The other ones full of bins and parts etc etc.

I use a backpack that holds all the gear I need including fuel and bar oil. I keep the fuel in little oil jugs.

I find these jugs interesting. I to have an all in one that I carry though mine is homemade and the tools are in the chainsaw scabbard. I can carry both on the toplink of the tractor which makes it very handy.

Sorry. Couldn’t resist. I do find those jugs interesting though.

It's one of those accessories that once you get it, you don't go back.

The issue is that in many locations the only non ethanol gas is premium grade. That’s all I can find in my area.

HD I have one that looks like this. View attachment 1899181
But I got it probably 30+ years ago, pre nozzle foolishness I believe from Baileys.com.
Anymore I find it a little more convenient to just carry a small jug of mix and whatever jug the bar oil comes in.
I have the same can. Also bought 30+ years ago.

The link you posted shows this can costs $38.40 on EBay. Where are they selling for $150?
