It's freaking nuts the mark up they did over here.

I wouldnt have bought mine if it had been that ridiculous priced.

2018
Order Summary
Items: $25.00
Shipping & handling: $13.75
Total before tax: $38.75
Estimated tax to be collected:* $0.00
Order total: $38.75
Thats about what I paid for mine years ago, too. Now they’re 3-4X that.

The increase in the cost of equipment & supplies for the working man in the last 4 years never ceases to amaze me. Feels like people who make the least have to pay the most.

Guy in my chainsaw repair was buying 6 at a time back when that price. We had a thread on them.

He would sell them in his shop and give some away as gifts.

Thinking someone caught on because price shot up over 4 years ago on those. Seemed like in a year or 2 afterwords.

Not an answer to the question. Someone posted these liquid containers that seem to work well for some tasks. Tuff Jug

I always wondered that. Seems they are about as EPA BS you can get IMHO.

I like just carrying everything in one. Head out have mix, oil, tools, chains, plug all in the combi. It's a tool box sort of too. Other side is a open box area.

Where I first seen them was a local guy that cuts for hire came in with one.

He had 1 cap crack from over tightening. So watch that.

Probably because they don't meet US fuel can regulations. OSHA and/or NFPA regulations require gas cans to be red. Husqvarna likes to make their cans Husqvarna orange

Are those stihl combi ones in white and orange sold in US?

Never looked into that but that could be it. Got to be RED here. Something so simple like that went right over my head.

My $47 nozzle arrived…..
Well I just had to know.

The green spout one to me was not even a option due to design. I use funnels and dont want to play houdini trying to transfer stuff with that can.

Went with the stihl version afm one to compare since sort of like my newer husky one.

I bought one just so I could compare and use my discount they offered me.

Is that a Holzforma knock-off of the Stihl fuel can? (I can't read the labels on my phone screen.) I'll be curious to hear what you think of it once you've had a chance to use it a bit.

I have never seen a local Stihl dealer that carries the Stihl version. I'm guessing the same problem as the Husqvarna can: importing it as as a "one-off" order to a retail customer in the US jacks the cost way up.

Also curious where you got the Stihl coupon.

Aftermarket clone copy of stihl can. So no stihl coupon. Was from the dealer I used and good till Dec 31st.

Holzfforma Farmertec same company

So being on a mission wondering where my extra spout has been hiding since 2018. Because of this thread. It lit a fire today.

Struck gold on about 7th spot I checked. Was outside inside bench #3

I just want to see how close this stihl aftermarket spout is to the oem husky one for fit. Curiously got the better of me. Extra 10 bucks off did me in too.

Cant stand design of the older green spout husky one as I use funnels alot without hands.

I have never seen a Husqvarna one with a green spout. Are you referring to the Holzforma knock-off, or was there a previous husky design?

If gas cans have to be RED, how come there are orange ones marketed in the US?

Husky had the green spouts before the newer one like I have they updated to long ago.

The clone of husky is the older husky.

Both OEM and AFM shown

Do we have orange gas cans? Maybe 1980's I had a orange one in MT and my dad still has it.

Why do they get to sell saws here in US that dealers cant sell. ;) Just read between the lines.

Everyone can be bought IMHO to look the other way.

My guess is volume of sells made. Not enough for them to worry about.

Just like us getting OEM stuff shipped in that isnt red or even oem saws. ;)

When's the last time you seen a new 288 sold at dealer or a OE 372. But snap your fingers one can be at your door.

Simple search. I guess it is a real rule too.

In the United States, gas cans for gasoline must be red, as required by OSHA:

  • Red: Gasoline or flammable liquids
  • Yellow: Diesel
  • Blue: Kerosene
  • Green: Oils or mixed fuel

Aren't the orange holzforma ones sold on the internet in the US? If they must be red to be in compliance, how can they be sold in the US on amazon or other internet outlets

Where are you seeing those? Have you found any in a retail store?

I know that some companies market what is obviously intended as gas can as "water storage containers" to get around the restrictions, but I have not seen orange ones of that particular dodge.
