Anyone try the Holzfforma Fuel/oil container?

It's getting harder to find the Husqvarn Combi fuel can for under $100. Back in January 2024, I was able to order two, delivered to my home for about $75 each. A purchase a couple of years earlier was significantly less expensive.

This deal for $88.61 including shipping to the US is the best I'm finding now:
Husqvarna Combination Gas Tank
just checked today the price at that link jumped up to $93.

This is coming from Japan, and the dollar has been weakening against the Yen for several months, which might explain some of the change?

I suspect that the threatened tariffs will also bump up prices of things coming from outside the US as well.

NATO style cans in my area
Seems like a good buy
Includes nozzles….

Looks like new they are about $75-$85 each. I might buy these, keep 1 or 2 and resell the rest

Those might be knock-offs.

From what I can see in the picture, they do apper to have full welds n the handles, which is a good thing. (Many knock-offs have only tack welds.)

However, genuine NATO cans (such as the Wavian cans) have recessed perimeter welds, which protects the welds/seams from damage. These appear to lack that recess. The picture below if the best I could find of the recess after a quick search:

Knock offs will often have inferior corrosion resistance inside the can or lack and corrosion resistance at all. In addition, they may be as thin as 0.7mm (23 gauge) steel. The Wavian cans are 0.9mm (20 gauge).

I picked a $35 knock-off can up off the shelf at Wallmart or some similar place at one point. The difference in quality compared to a genuine NATO can was obvious.

Not saying that the ones you found are a bad deal - tht's hard to tell without seeing them in person. Just that I would not be thinking I was getting a $100 genuine Wavian NATO can (I believe the Polish firm, Gelg also has a NATO contract).

As the other guy said, the welds aren't recessed and that's a definite indication that they're not "legit".
The raised/unprotected seam welds can get bent over and cause leaks, assuming the cans aren't already leaking.

The great thing about the Justrite,,
the can is pressure sealed,, no air exchange if heated up, then cooled down.

Normal cans leak air, so, when the temperature changes the can will push out air, then pull in a fresh batch of air,,

That air exchange is how moisture gets into the fuel.

I bet I have min 6-8 plastic 5gal gas cans. 4 diesel 5gal plastic cans and 2 kerosene 5 gal plastic cans.

Couple 2.5 gal plastic gas cans. 1 or 2 1 gal plastic gas cans.

Plus my 2 plastic combi cans.

Never a issue here at all. Been using plastic since 80's

Some smaller 2.5 from many years ago in pic and still have.
