New tractor is going to be here tomorrow :)

Looking at attachments- noticed a lot of tomahawk skidsteer attachments in various auctions. Anyone use any of these? I'm looking at grapples, if the price is right I can give up some quality, not looking for garbage either though :)

Thanks!

Wonder who makes them? There doesn't seem to be a Tomahawk Website.
What tractor did you get?

tractor unveiling will be tomorrow :)

On the tomahawk it's odd - lots of auction houses have them listed as new. I'm not finding anything on them.

Hi: This is my first post and I might be able to help you guys. Tomahawk is made by D.H. Machine in Nappanee,IN
I only know this because I buy skid steer attachments at the auctions and there manual was taped on a grapple I was looking at.
Phone # 574-773-9211. I was told buy the auction house that this is some sort of sister company of Versa Tech attachments.

Blurry: I have purchased several of the versa tech lines and sold them, I have not had any body complain about them.
Tomahawk and Versa tech have a light duty series and a heavy duty series. The HD series are pretty decent for the price and have 1/2" plates, granted they are not a Bradco but your not paying a Bradco price either.

The light duty series are soso but they still sell at the auctions, I do know some guys that beef them up with more bracing.

Apparently the auction houses sell the attachments on consignment for Tomahawk and Versa Tech thats why you don't see them at a dealer.

Hope this helps.

Greg

thank you. I bought an EA grapple, though I will keep my eyes open for other attachments at auction!

I found two Tomahawk grapples on CL last week. I called and the guy said he was a friend of the plant manager. Sounded funny at first but I guess that explains it.

I am also interested in the tomahawk grapples. I was hoping that some one who has used one would chime in.

Hey guys! I have any and all info on Tomahawk Attachments! If you would like more info you can directly email me at stihlsawyer@gmail.com DH Machine is the creator of Tomahawk and is an amish ran company (thus the lack of a website) but we also created and sold the Versatech line of attachments until the buyer decided to get out of auction related sales. Thus Tomahawk was formed. All of the attachments are 100% American Made (Merica!) and we distribute to most major auction companies as well as sell direct. If you would like info on purchasing direct or any other questions, then please email me. Thanks!

I have been looking at SSQA Stump buckets and was interested in the Titan SB that sells for $695 with free shipping. Saw theTitan SB on an eBay Auction so bid on it a few times but it would get bid up to very close to the $695 so decided if I was going to pay full price I wanted to buy directly from Titan.

Saw the Tomahawk SB on bottom of eBay page listed at $365 so contacted seller for shipping cost. Reply was shipping cost was $315 which made total $680. For $15 I will buy the Titan as have good experience on pallet forks, pallet fork extensions, and clamp-on pallet forks (now for sale).

Ebay.. not a Tomahawk dealer. Lol

You said they (Tomahawk) don't have a web site but sell thru others. Are you saying that one of their dealers would not sell on eBay???

Okay, what is price and shipping for Tomahawk SB to Texas???

I ended up getting two tomahawk attachments at auction. For $1100 including auction fees and fuel down and back to pick them up I got 42" ssqa forks and a 66" single lid brush grapple. I have mounted the forks just to unload them, I haven't used them for anything yet. They fit perfect nice and snug but not so tight that it's hard to align them. The quality looks good so far. The grapple has had limited use (a lot of snow on the ground since I got it) but so far it has preformed well. The ssqa is tighter on the grapple but not a bad thing. Gotta go I will try to post a better review later.

Do you recall what those 42" SSQA forks sold for and are you happy with them?
