Are ATVs/UTVs overpriced?

It's hard for me to give up my 2.75 fixed mortgage but otherwise on the same page.

And no real reason to. Why would I put that cash into paying off the mortgage early when I can earn a whole lot more than 2.75% investing it?

Being debt free isn't always a way to maximize returns. I just don't like owing anyone a debt... I hate making payments with a passion.
I had a financial advisor when I was 25, tell me to ONLY have an interest only mortgage for LIFE... And just leverage debt. That just didnt sit well with this farm boy who likes owning stuff and not letting others own it. I probably didn't maximize my returns, but I'm retiring this week at 47 years of age, so I guess I'm doing better than most who are still leveraging.

Same here, so everything is paid off and has been for quite a while.

But yesterday I was rudely reminded of that I owe some $270,000. Not that I expect to be billed for it in normal fashion - it's just my portion of the national debt - but it bugs me.

There is always that. I could pay my portion today... But that would assume they wouldn't put me back in debt tomorrow, which they will.

I also feared the idea that if I see debt as "leveraging with wisdom"... Then I've all of a sudden opened the door to legitimizing all sorts of debt purchases by attaching some sort of false financial wisdom to things I really should not have purchased anyway. When I ask myself, am I willing to pay cash for it today? All of a sudden, certain purchases dont look so necessary. I've seen a lot more people go broke because of debt, than be broke because they are debt free.

I have bought 3 new atvs, a 2012 Sportsman 400HO, sold it and bought a 2021 Rancher footshift, sold that and bought a 23 Sportsman 570 EPS.

The 400HO was 5,699 plus taxes and such, the Rancher cost 1/3 more than the 400HO, and the 570 was twice the 400HO.

Each machine cost more, but was better refined than the previous model that it replaced.

I guess it depends on ones needs, I am happy with my purchases.

The new SxS are real sweet too, but for me, I would buy a 2 door JL first.

We have a JK and like it but the SxS is way better on rough roads/trails.
