Attachment Effectiveness

I added a valve (go to a hydraulic shop...not the box store; we have about 10X the pressure requirement) in line with the quick connect on my BH and what a world of difference!!

I don't have a schematic, but I'm sure that PT put a valve in line with the return instead of a two port valve; thus the hoses are a bugger to couple while running. (Forgetting this fact, I poured a gallon of oil on the ground while I had the fitting removed and moved the tractor.)

With the valve, I just leave the BH coupled....valve open while attaching front. Reach down and close it while I'm climbing back on....too slick!!!

On slight downside, I had to cap one set of my 3pt ports to get the angle I wanted without cutting off part of the fender. Not a bad thing anyway.....one step closer to my longer term goal of having an auxillary front control (for a swinging stumper or a pivoting bucket). Also, I have a mechanically adjustable top link for the 3pt [another someday] so "no problem."

Can you provide a little more description of what you are talking about? I am not sure that I understand the problem, or how your solution is installed.

thanks.

Thanks for starting a new thread. Let's get back to discussing attachment effectiveness.

Ahh yes, back to attachment effectiveness...I was so happy with my valve, I forgot to make a post about my trencher like a planned! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Anyway, I was quite pleased with it, still don't know exactly what Wasabi meant about it's versatility, but it sure makes a trench! Also, I found out that while it does make work easy for the backhoe: 1 trench only! 2 is too wide to stradle and wider than the 12in hoe needs.

On the down side, in SD much of the trench work is for a 6ft depth (water lines freeze with less than 6ft), I think the 2445 would handle it as far as HP, but PT only makes the 4.

Of course, I think something that long would look really cool in place of the hoe instead of quick tach. Now, I have another thing fits the PT build-it-yourself.....fodder for another thread!

BTW Bob, I see the mod effectiveness thread you just started: neat thread! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I have straightened mine a couple of times with a farm high lift jack. works good. Just remember to reverse the jack.
