I have a 2010 Branson 3510i tractor that came equipped with dual hydraulic remotes. I have recently purchased a 3 pt log splitter from Tractor Supply, County Line unit Speeco brand, that I would like to use through the remotes. I have hooked up the hydraulics from tractor to the Speeco valve assembly, but there is a problem each time the tractor applies pressure through the remote valve to log splitter. The splitter's valve immediately locks in the open position and will not release handle until the tractor is turned off and pressure is released through the aux valve handles. The splitter cylinder starts to move and then stops when pressure is applied. Has anyone experienced this type of behavior in using a 3 pt log splitter on your tractor?

Thanks,

Redmulebob

Look in your manual and see if the splitter is open center or closed center. Also make sure you are not feeding into the tank port, try moving the rear remote valve the other way.

Thank's for the reply Leejohn, Yes the splitter is an open center unit and the branson ports are also open type. I have tried adjusting the pressure at the splitter valve to no avail. Splitter valve immediately locks in the extended position and the ram is fully out. I have swapped ports on the tractor and verified pressure side of aux lines. Again problem is that when you apply fluid to the splitter control valve it immediately locks in the extended position and will not release until you turn tractor off and release the pressure on line.

Since you have dual rear remotes are you sure you are not hooking both lines from the splitter to both pressure ports on the dual valve? Recheck your connections and make sure they are correct.

How are you keeping the remote valve open? does one of the remotes have a detent?

Is it possible that the lines from the splitter control valve to the cylinder are hooked up incorrectly? It could have been mis assembled at the store. W Jones
