I use HP document manager and scan all receipts. I set up a folder for each store and scan the receipts to the correct folder. All receipts are stored on the computer and backed up to an external drive.

I started doing this after going through a state use tax audit and spending hours digging through receipts. Now if I need a receipt, it only takes a few seconds to find what I'm looking for. If I ever have another audit, I can simply give the electronic copy to the auditor for the years needed.

Where did he say it was a stores house brand item? He said take the item to another store (different than Best Buy) that carries the same item, not another best buy.

I don't haev any real problems with a no reciept no refund policy. I don't shop at Best Buy for other reasons.

What I really don't like is a store with a no receipt policy that won't address an exchange for a failed item that is the stores house brand item. Thinking HF in this instance. This seem to be the new policy as of about mid-yr. Was a cheap item bought on sale for about $5 and didn't keep the receipt.

I think the post you were referring to was referring to the one here in bold as it was the post just before it. I could be wrong but that's the way I read it.

Also most stores don't carry the exact same item. It may look the same, but will have a different model number.

Go back and read post #28 as a response to the post right above it, #27, which is the one I think #28 was responding to.

Not trying to get into a big argument about it but it seems like he was responding to #27 and if he was then it would be a house brand item.

No problem two bit. I just didn't read it that way. My read was that he was not referencing #27, but just talking about returning items in general, i.e. returning an item from one company to a different company who may carry the same thing. If he was referring to post #27 then I apologize to the op. If, not then I stand by my original quote.

No problem two bit. I just didn't read it that way. My read was that he was not referencing #27, but just talking about returning items in general, i.e. returning an item from one company to a different company who may carry the same thing. If he was referring to post #27 then I apologize to the op. If, not then I stand by my original quote.

Fair enough. From other posts by Willl I just dont really see him advocating that activity. But the way he wrote it there is room for doubt.
