I was out plowing and my rpm's kept going down. Over the course of an hour it got worse and worse. So, I went down and bought some anti-gel diesel additive, after I checked the air filter (which seemed fine). The machine fired right up and ran well for maybe two minutes then started the same stuff. Next, I pulled the fuel filter and it was totally gunked up so I cleaned it based on the instructions in the manual. Then it said that before starting to bleed the injection pump. I took this to mean bleed the fuel lines which there were directions for in the manual. (No directions for bleeding the injection pump??) So I bled the lines and the machine fired right up nice and healthy. Then, it stalled and I have not been able to start it? Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated. Is there something I'm missing with "bleeding the pump"? We're in the middle of a blizzard and I need the thing running...thanks.

First step, loosen the fuel filter bowl with the petcock open, let the filter fill up with fuel. Next open the thumb wheel on the inlet line to the injection pump. Then crack all 4 injector lines at the injector, move the hand throttle to full throttle, crank the engine over until you have fuel coming out of all 4 lines.
When you loosened the filter bowl you should have gotten decent flow out of the filter. If all you got was a trickle, then the outlet of the tank or the fuel hose could be plugged. If you had good flow at the filter and after a couple of minutes (in 30 second intervals giving the starter a rest in between) you still don't have fuel coming out at the injector lines, you have another air pocket between the filter and injection pump. If that is the case you need to pull the fuel line off at the inlet side of the transfer pump and make sure you have fuel there. It is gravity fed to that point so having a full tank of fuel will help. Once you have fuel there, reconnect that line and pull of the line at the inlet side of the injection pump. Crank the engine over, you should get good heavy squirts of fuel. If you get next to no flow then the transfer pump is bad. If you get good flow there reconnect the line and crank the engine over again until you get fuel at the injectors. Tighten the lines and move the throttle back down between idle and half throttle. Preheat the glow plugs and start the machine. Once it is running close the thumbwheel on the injection pump.

You are loosening the line at the injector right? Don't loosen them at the injection pump, if you back off a delivery valve it will not pump fuel through that injector. You should be loosening the top nut, the lower nut holds the return line. If the whole injector is turning when you are loosening the line, you need to hold the injector while you loosen the line. Then you will have to retighten the injector,

1st things 1st you need to get in warm place or more anti gel in it. Then you need to get it warmed up an get all the nasty fuel out and good fuel with anti gel in it. Best of luck it will be a lesson that you never forget.
Just plowed the driveway man, can't thank you enough. I ran it for about 1/2 hr. and it ran great, with only one little hitch. Do you think maybe I have a pump going or maybe it was just a little piece of gunk in the lines yet?? I bought the tractor last January and did quite a bit of maintenance but I didn't clean the fuel filter and when I cracked it tonight I seriously doubt it has ever been cleaned, there was tons of junk in it.

I would guess it was a little air bubble. I would get a new filter if you haven't already.

Ok, it's back to losing RPMs...I think there may still be some air in the system. There are thumb screws to bleed one section but I'd like to do the whole thing to make sure. Should I start from the line going into the filter and work that way or should I start at the block and work back?
