So I question whether there is any benefit to leverage that.

Good questions, Newberry and Johnkn. I really need delivery by late September or early October. We have not gotten down to brass tacks on that, but it sounds like a 6-8 week wait. Which could work.

I specified R14s, and the tractor price listed includes those, and filled. Kubota's listed incentives I see are $1,000 for cash and $700 for implements. So he is $100 above that.

The more I get granular here, the more this seems a good price except for loader, see below. And except it is like ordering from a catalog, though not Amazon. You'll get your tractor in due time but I do not know how specific the estimate will be.

Also, the MSR on the LA435 loader is $3,031 plus $459 for 54" quick attach bucket (he quoted $4,225 including 54" quick attack bucket) and a 54" midmount mower for $2,162 (list is $2,400).

So I guess where he seems a bit high is on the loader and bucket, $3,490 MSR vs. $735 more from the dealer.

Could he be making up for the R14s and them filled? Is that how dealers do it? Except I reckon they are still making money on the tractor, etc.

The loader msrp with the AQ bucket is actually $3929, the QA is $439. Did the dealer add on a self leveling option for the loader? That's a $609 option and would be inline with the pricing you got, or the 3rd function at $811 would be right about what you quote with approx 10% off msrp.

Your pricing seems pretty inline with what I see in my area, which should be pretty similar to you.

Youæ±*e correct depending on where you purchase. Taxes vs. no tax state, etc. My understanding from a conversation I had with a dealer is the 20% off MSRP is from Kubota and does not come out of the dealers profit. The dealer can absorb some of the the add-ons, service, set-up costs like they normally do when looking to make a deal. It all depends on the dealer....some choose not to participate at all. How did the MSRP look compared to the offer you received?

Ah, maybe he rolled the QA into the bucket and loader price. It is not specified on what he gave me, but I'd told him I wanted quick attach.

As far as I know, he did not include a leveler and discouraged it when I brought it up.

Earlier in the summer, I was quoted $17500 for a B2601 w/R14's & FEL.

I think you may have a little more wiggle room, if you push. But, seems like a decent first shot.

These prices seem a bit high to me but I haven't bought a tractor in 15 years.

Something to keep in mind is that Coronavirus / Covid has tangibly bumped tractor prices up, especially in the compact and utility class tractors. Supply and demand effects are real. :thumbsup:

Before all this started, I got a B2601 with less than 50 hours and a 60' mid-mount mower from a Kubota dealer for about $2000 less than pricing today for a similar tractor with a 54" mower deck.

10-15% off Kubota MSRP seems to be the norm for the compacts in the last couple of years. The sub compacts may be different. COVID issues may have changed that.

If you need the tractor now and want to deal with this dealer, I'd buy it if he offered you 15% off msrp. That is historically about the best deal you can get out of Kubota and you need a tractor now. You will be ahead if you make a cash deal. The zero percent financing is nice but when I did it, there were a lot of financing costs and I had to buy Kubota insurance for the life of the loan which was a duplicate as my homeowner's policy covered loss (to its benefit, Kubota insurance covers any loss). I paid the 5 year loan off at the 4 year mark and was surprised to get a letter 30 days later saying they terminated my insurance.

Yes, less than new with a free 60" MMM so, ~$5,600 less than MSRP for a tractor and mower with less than 50 hours and a very gentle life. My math suggests this was a ~30% total discount.

The dealer likely used it more for implement deliveries than the owner did to mow his yard. That 60" finish mower deck is very pricey option to. Overall, I'm super happy getting a near new B2601 at a big discount. Local new options all had 54" mowers and none were discounted more than about 5% because they were so hard to keep in stock at the time. The dealer I normally used only had new deliveries on the lot for less than two weeks on average for the entire Summer I bought mine!

Last week I was pricing some implements and the dealer I was at said he was totally out of tractors this size and when they became available used they were pulling a ~2K premium over normal prices right now. If I wanted to trade my L4600 in on a larger tractor, he could make me a very good deal too!
