B2920 1/4" positioning hands on

I used my new B2920 with quick hitch moving trailers, boats and putting snowblower away in back of shed. Did quite a bit with 3 point and either mine is setup perfectly or that is how they work. It was smooth as silk and cannot tell the difference from my old NH TZ25DA that had position control. :thumbsup:

Where you will notice a difference is in bush hogging for a while as you will need to bump the cutter up from time to time and you will have no set point for repeatability in height adjustment.

I use a box blade on our BX for ballast and have to bump it up every once in a while to keep it out of the dirt. Others have reported these issues with the BX and B Series.

I was really nervous about 1/4" positioning when I got my b2920, but now that I've used it quite a bit it's not such a big deal. It does seem like very heavy implements may sink just slightly over time, so I just bump it every 10 mins or so to keep it at the right height and its a non-issue. Re-setting height is harder to do, but I find that the things i do don't require so much precision that it matters, its pretty easy to get it 'close enough' and not worry about it. If I were offered position control I'd be happy to take it, but I don't feel like I'm suffering at all without it. (It may just be that I don't use implements that require that level of fine grained height adjustment)

I believe KU gator uses chains on his to maintain height. I grew up with position control and hate anything else. I didn't even put the cutter on our BX last year; maybe not this year either.

My B2320 came perfectly adjusted as well. Works like an absolute dream. I worked a couple acres yesterday with the plow and field cultivator and was just thinking to myself, My, this sucker works like silk.

I fully realize that other's are either out of adjustment or something else just drives them nuts about their 1/4" system. All I can say is that mine is great, but while I loved the tractor, the 1/4" system on my BX was very different and nowhere near as useable.
