Is your B3030 ordered?
I have been waiting to find what the dimensions of the 403 loader was going to be compared to the B2910. With all the differences, including the clutch I do not think I will be ordering one. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Maybe taking the cash I had set aside for the B3030 and use it to buy a power rake. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Henro
I'm with you on this one. I believe that this is a cost savings to Kubota .
That may not be a great option in all cases for the operator/owner.

I agree Henro,
more often than not it is desireable to have a clutch to feather the implement startup. It will avoid trying to instantly bring a large mass up to speed. Wouldn't it be near impossible to run a pto chipper without a clutch to start it? But there must be some feather capability with the pto, just for the previously stated reasons. Did I miss something in the prior posts?
Now, looking at Stef's pics and in particular the hitch area... when I was out tractor shopping to replace (supplement) my wheel horse, my greatest concern and the one that put me off smaller machines was the over hang of the rear axle from the case. Taking a good look shows the over hang to be greater in length than the distance between the support bearings. Has this ever been a concern of yours, has it ever caused anyone any problems at all?
Thanks,
Martin

The spacing you see in the pictures is the same as the current B27-2910 and B7800. There has no problems reported on TBN of axle bearing failure. I have 1 1/2" spacers on my wheels with no problems. If you are using the spacing to determine which CUT you will buy. You may be limiting many tractors that are very capable from a list of tractors to purchase.

AntrimMan,

With my BX once in a while I get lucky and it almost feels like I can feather the hydraulic clutch as I try to slowly engage it.

But most of the time is pretty much just engages real quick. Part of my problem could be that there two "detents" in the plastic slot the lever rides in, and one needs to pull the lever left, then push it right, as it is moved to the engage position, and this may hinder one's ability to feather engagement somewhat. I have heard at least one person has trimmed these little "tabs" off, I assume to make lever movement easier...

All I can say is that I used to try to feather the hudraulic clutch when engaging it at low RPM with the MMM on. I don't bother anymore as the result (or lack of one) most of the time was not worth the effort...

It is possible that the hydraulic clutch has some feather built into it, just not as much feather as I would normally employ when using a foot clutch. All I know is that for me, the MMM starts almost shockingly quick, when compared to what it would do if I were controlling it with my foot on a clutch pedal...

I agree, Henro. I've used a post hole digger on a tractor with the hydraulic PTO clutch instead of the foot clutch, and I guess it's not a big deal, but I liked using the foot clutch on my Kubotas better.

Its my understanding that the tractor does automaticly have some level of feathering built into the hydraulic engauging system. All the L-Series tractors are like this, makes sense to put the technology into the B's as well. I do agree that for a PHD a clutch is defentialy handy. The vast majority of customers will be glad to see it gone, but I can see why you would you want it.
