Can't seem to get the hydraulic toplink to work.

It extended, but won't retract.

I re-jiggered (that's a highly technical term) the connections a few times. Figured perhaps there was a problem with the toplink so I swapped it out for the one that worked just dandy on my TC18. No dice.

Tractor seems to be going into bypass - the "power beyond' hoses for the backhoe get stiff.

Front loader & three point seem to be functioning normally. Fluid level looks good & fluid looks "right". I did notice that the hydraulic oil was especially hot after mowing the lawn. When re-attaching the FEL, I just about burned my fingers on the fittings. My TC18 never ran so hot.

Is there something stupid I'm missing? Tomorrow I'll try my dump trailer - It doesn't have the piloted check valve that the toplink cylinders have. Though I wouldn't expect that cause a problem, my TC18 had a 1,800 PSI relief setting, the B3030 should be outputting well north of 2,000.

I'll be putting in a call to the dealer tomorrow - hopefully one of their mobile service techs can get out to see it shortly...

Something is wrong here for sure. The backhoe hoses should not be getting stiff while running, do you have them connected? the system is under pressure and causing it to heat up from the resistance.

The backhoe hoses are connected.

They only get "stiff" when I try to operate the rear remote. Though the temperature of the hydraulic system has me a little concerned. If there were a restriction in the system, I'd think the other hydraulics would act funney?

Brand new tractor... this is a dealer issue! I would not touch anything.

Temperature of Hydro oil will be about 100 degrees above ambient temperature. You will not keep you bare skin on it for long before it will become uncomfortable.

Sounds like one of the quick connectors needs to be replaced. You can't really tell by looking at them when they are apart if they aren't connecting correctly. I would say to try to see which side has the problem and change the set on that side. I had one last fall that did the same thing and I have seen others. It don't happen that often but it does happen.

I have 2 rear remotes - problem was with both remotes - that should minimize the chance of a bad connector right????

If the backhoe hoses are upstream of the rear remote (not sure if it is - don't have a schematic, haven't traced it out yet), it could get "stiff" if the flow was stopped at the remote - right? Leads me to an issue with the remote valve or associated plumbing & fittings.

Am I reading it right, that it is showing up with both remotes?

Problem solved I was plugging the lines into the fittings from each of the two valves despite the nice graphic directly above the outlets...

I'm claiming diminished mental capacity due to emotional stress - my 11 year old lab was diagnosed with a "mass" on his spleen yesterday:( . He's at the vet hospital right now for some tests - We'll know more tomorrow...
