B3030 Vibrations

I called someone at a Kubota sevice dept. A nice guy, he called a rep in GA and got right back to me. He was told that something was touching/rubbing against the steering wheel shaft and x-fering the vibs to the wheel. A service bulletin will be out soon. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Greetings,
I don't own a B3030 but I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Seriously tho, I had a 1/2hr to blow today so since I was in the area I stopped by the local Kubota dealership and got to checking out the machinery when this B3030 w/Cab caught my eye. It wasn't long till a sales rep made his way out and before you know it, I'm inside the cab w/the engine running and ice cold air blowing through my formally hair sport'n brain housing group.
Remembering this thread, I set the throttle at several RPM ranges, i.e. idle, 1500, 1700, 1900, 2200 etc and didn't notice any out of the ordinary vibrations. So I drove it around in both 2w & 4w drive, in L, M & H gears and still no appreciable vibration. I actually thought it was pretty smooth.
Needless to say, I was highly impressed with it and if'n I could justify it, I'd definitely trade for it.
But alas, I'd have some serious tree trimming as well as building modification(s) to do inorder to use it for finish mowing. Besides, I just recently paid off the debt to the Mrs for the BX23 and I ain't in no hurry to be owing that woman any more major construction paybacks... (i.e. remodeled kitchen this past time) /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The B3030 that I tested didn't exhibit any annoying vibrations, shakeing or noises. I though it was a very good tractor that I would seriously consider if'n I had the need for it.
And btw, the rep quoted me the B3030 w/AC & heated cab for $18,500. No loader or MMM included....

I saw a post from Messicks indicating Kubota is working on a fix for this. It may be something mounted poorly that is conducting vibration. Hopefully you'll get a fix before long. I'd press your dealer (in a nice way) for a soultion from Kubota. The more complaints the more likey they will take this seriously.

Volfandt,

I didn't have any noticable vibration for the first 8 or 9 hours. Come to think of it I noticed the vibration after putting the BH back on the unit at around the 9 hour mark. The vibration became noticable while grading with the FEL back filling a trench. Not sure what that means. Maybe I'll take the BH off and see if it goes away. I'm still wondering if it is related to the hydraulic pump speed or flowrate.

Been 'gone' for a while, I thought I was the only one with bad vibration (been busy building a new attached gagrage this summer). Looks like more B3030 owners are chimming in with vibration issues. I've had several follow-up calls to my local dealer here in Carlton, MI. Same response- Kubota is aware of this and working on a solution. I plan to keep on them, however I will try and go direct to Kubota as well. I'm sure their people read this forum so all us B3030 owners need to keep the pressure on. Also received a customer satisfaction survey in the mail direct form K, so I will respond accordingly and see if that conduit has any effect. Stay tuned.

I've got 86 hrs. on my new B3030 with FEL, Gearmore 60" Rotary Cutter, and Gearmore Box Scraper, and have never experienced a vibration in the steering wheel yet. In fact, no problems of any kind, except the dealer who didn't want to sell me Super UDT, then charged me an arm and a leg when he had to order it for me. I went straight to Kubota via email, and received a call in one week from their corporate headquarters, from a fluids engineer, who promptly sent me a free 5-gal. pail of Super UDT! As far as I'm concerned, Kubota stepped up to the plate and won me over the rest of the way from JD and some of the others who don't seem to care if they sell tractors or not.

This is one sweet tractor, and in this day of $3.00/gal. diesel fuel, it is also highly efficient. I can mow 5' tall fields of weeds all day long on 5-6 gals. of fuel!

From what I've read on this thread and others, it seems that you guys w/ BH's have the bad vibes. Is there a common denominator here?

I've sent two e-mails to Kubota asking about the vibration problems, and have got back two replies from Kubota. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Both replies were blocked as spam by my computer so I have no idea what they said. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Maybe someone else could try?

Papa Romano, I tried to send a PM with no luck. Have you heard from Kubota yet about your B3030 vibrations? Let us know what you find out. I'm still holding off my CUT purchase until Kubota comes out with a fix for this problem.

Finally got a favorable response from my dealer on the vibration;

"Today there was a service bulletin released to address the vibration problem with your B3030. I will order the kit today and should have it next week. I will let you know when it is here and then make arrangements to install it."

All with similar symptoms, call your dealer. I will let you know what the fix was. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This is excellent! I can't wait to know what's the fix.

This is excellent. I've mentioned this to my dealer as well. Do service releases like this cost us anything?

Looks like I need to give my dealer a call... Thanks for keeping us posted.

Thanks for the post. The dealer was suppose to drop off the machine today. I called my dealers service manager this morning. He said that he will order the kit and install it before he drops off the machine. Wow, what timing!

I tested a B2630 today and remarked to the dealer that there was quite a bit of vibration in the steering wheel.. He said aha!, you picked up on that vibration.. There is a fix for it involving changing a bracket..
So the B2630 also experiences this vibration..

What a nice machine.. Handles like a dream, steers easily with one finger...

Talked to my service guy today about the Vibration Service Bulletin. He told me the Bulletin called for the replacement of a Z shaped bracket around the steering column area.
He said that they shortened it because it was coming into contact with something that was causing the vibration through the wheel and pedal.
He said it called for taking the dash area apart and would take about an hour and a half.
The kit is on order.
No fix for my lopsided loader yet though /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Oh well one thing at a time...... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

anybody ever get update done? make any difference?

   / B3030 Vibrations #39
The parts are on order for me. I have a copy of the service bulletin. It's three pages. The replacement kit consists of 2 parts, a new Z shaped bracket called a stay that attaches to the body at one and a stud that attaches the stay to the steering post at the other end. If anyone is interested in viewing the service bulletin and can talk me thru on how to send it in layman's english, I'll give it a try.

Oh I forgot I'm leaving on vacation tonight. I'll be back in a week

A friend of mine got an L3430 HST and it did the same thing. Dealer said it was the R-4 tires so they swaped them out for turfs. and all virbrations went away. I sure would not have let them swap my R-4"s. I think Kubota has some bad tires in their stock.
