B3200 or B2620? Help the rookie!

I am about to buy my first tractor. I am going to be mowing 4-5 acres with a 5' bush hog, and moving horse manure, sand etc. on a limited basis with a FEL. Do you think the Kubota B2620 can handle this adequately, or should I get the B3200? Thanks for any advice you can give me!

Also-Kubota is the way to go, right? Seems like the JD folks want extra $$$ for that green and gold paint job. My other option here would be an NH or a LS?

Actually the B2620 will do all of your required tasks with ease, that being said the B3200 would do them a little faster.My BX23 TLB has dug drain tiles trenches 5' to 6' down. moved many yards of top fill and cut my two acres of lawn.In the winter the FEL or the front snow blower was UN-stop able.It is a great running tractor.But I later got larger more power hungry and Ordered a B3200 TLB. It also does the same tasks above, just a little faster, and I love the B3200 with extra power and lift capacity and believe It's the perfect sized tractor for me.Same tasks as the BX 23, but not any better.I guess my point is sometimes bigger may not be better. My neighbor is a dairy farmer and when he is going by with his huge 1486 IH duel wheels I just can imagine that kind of power in a tractor, but what would I do with that power and weight? Can't go on lawns, just for field work.
Good Luck with your choice, you would be happy with either one, just remember the weight.

If the extra size of the 3200 will not bother you then go for the 3200. I had a B2620 and traded for the 3200. Sometimes bigger is better.

Yes, a B2620 will do it and so will a BX though not quite as well, but if it was me, I would opt for the 3200 for the extra power and they appear more stable.

Thanks folks! I am going to go check out the LS tractors-they are made near me (in NC) and sound very cheap, just hope they don't go the way of the Farmtrac. I think they are in the same facility. If I do get a Kubota (which is very probable) I am going to go with the B3200

Trust me when I say, cheaper is never better when it comes to tractors. The problem with the LS and the Farmtrac is getting parts and support for it. You never know where the company is going to be tomorrow.

I had the same decision to make last spring. I chose the 2620 because that is all my trailer would haul, and I have to transport the tractor between the three properties I maintain. I could have bought the 3200 for $2200 more, and I was sorely tempted...but I could not spend the $3000 or so for a new trailer.

My usage sounds like yours, and the 2620 has handled the tasks well.

I use my B2710 to maintain our ten acres. About seven acres with the bush hog, up close to the house with my Hustler. We have a 1500' stone driveway that we maintain with the box scraper, and this past winter actually got to plow snow with the rear blade!! The kubota has truly been my favorite toy of all times!!

I have a B2920 and use a 5' Bush Hog Squeeler. I mows ok with it, but in honesty, I feel the B3200's additional weight would probably handle it better. A rotary mower is heavy and sits way back so even leaving the FEL on it is pretty bouncy. Once I got our property mostly under control and got the rocks picked up, I primarily use the MMM. A disadvantage of the B2X20 and the B3200 when using the rotary mower is the 1/4" valve system of the 3pt hitch. It will not hold the front of the mower at a specified height and will gradually leak down as you mow, so you have to bump it up every lap. Not a big deal, but a nuisance when you look back and the front of the mower is on the ground.

If you are not going to want a MMM, you may want to also consider the L2800. I did a very quick look and it looked like with a FEL, it would be about the same price as a 3200. It gives you position control instead of 1/4 valve. I think it would give you a little beefer FEL also, but I didn't really look that close. If I was going to use the tractor to mow the yard, I would go with a B. If it was only for the field work, I would consider the L2800. I went with a B because I trailer it to our other property and did not want to trailer the L.
