B3200 vs B3030

I not so sure it is just a point about the features, but also more about the design. Yes they both have 4 cyl engines but as the head office Kubota tech rep described it to me, the newer generation moves the HST to a different connect point in relation to the engine, more padding on the floorboards, different HST pedal configuration setup, etc.. which all contribute to less vibration overall. If I would have had that discussion with him before, I would have started out with the B3030 right away and saved myself the extra work of having to re-deal (mind you that is somewhat fun in itself) I have the 60" MMM and I also subscribe to the ie: spread cost over the life of the tractor and being happy with it as opposed to some regrets. Thought I had done that the first time around and I had the size, HP, main features ie: FEL and MMM right, just not the extra feature options. I didn't think I would need or make use of them since this was a hefty purchase to begin with getting the B3200. For me, it did not suit my needs and I had to change my thinking along with help from comments made here on TBN as well. We all know no one tractor is perfect (even Kubota) but it is nice to be nearly all satisfied for our particular needs and uses. :)

Now this is the kind of info that means something. How is the hst connected and what other major build differences are there.
The cosmetic stuff like 3pt arms etc is really not that important because it can all be retrofitted if desired but how the machine is build can't be changed.
This is the info that would change my mind on the 3030 over the 3200.
Is there more:eek:

MW66, As you know Buffalo New York get a considerable amount of snowfall. Will you use your tractor for snow removal? I know you mentioned you are looking for an open seat tractor but was wondering if the cabbed version of the 3030 would fit you better? But then it is more money. I have the cabbed 3030 and with the record snowfalls we had this winter the heated cab just laughed at the blowing wind, cold, and snow! Your thoughts?

Growing up in Buffalo, NY and am intimately familiar with our winters here. I would ove a cabbed tractor, but with affording a new home and now landscaping, I just have to draw the line somewhere. It was drawn by not getting a cabbed tractor. Plus, I know the cab adds some significant weight. I plan to add a RFM 64" blower to it. Plus a rear blower is cheaper too.

I don't follow what the tech rep is saying because the B3200 is the newer design........??

My 2 cents..........

I like Chuck's suggestion. Price a 2630 to see how close it is to the 3200. I feel you are only going to see a slight difference in HP if you are running a PTO attachment that robs alot of power, such as a brush chipper. Recently, Kubota had a good incentive on the 2630 to move more of them...... perhaps its still available?

Personally, I think if i were needing to add a quick hitch of some sort, arm rests, etc to a 3200..... I'd just buy a 3030 to begin with. They are both great tractors.... only you can decide if the deluxe features are worth the extra money to you.

If I bought a 26, or 3030...... I'd get it with the cabbed style loader joystick. Not terribly expensive to add at the time you order.

Good luck and have fun tractor shopping! :)

The B3030 is worth the extra $$$! I had the cab model & all those extras seem well worth the money when you are hitching up or blowing snow, etc.

What if someone doesn't want a cab model and never has blowing snow? Is it worth it in your opinion for just hitching up? $2000 difference, right?

Well........here's the update. I went back to the dealer today and he has good pricing. I checked him against Barlow's. The B3030 is $3,700 more for the uncabbed version compared to the B3200. Well, everyone has there price point for value and that tipped it over the edge for me. I could afford the B3030, but I don't think the features are worth $3,700 more. I really like the cruise setup on the B3030, but the B3200 still has cruise, just a different type. I put the order in for the B3200 with a canopy, 60" MMM, 58" tiller, 60" FEL, 64" Rear snow thrower, pallet forks that clamp onto the bucket, and the dealer threw in rear work lights and a block heater. He also said he would order the armrests that are standard on the B3030 seat. He has everything in stock, but he wants to get it all to his warehouse, then have me come down some evening or Saturday morning to go over how everything works. I plan on a May 1st delivery. Took advantage of the Kubota $0 down, 60 months/0% financing. This dealer was great and nothing beats that. Pictures will be forthcoming in a few weeks.

That sounds like a great set up! I might look into the quick attach for the loader, and a set of regular forks though. I think you would be much happier with them although they are somewhat more money.

OK, looks like the $2000 went to $3700, did you pay $3700 of your money to get the B3030 over the B3200 when you bought yours? We won't even bring up the B2630 that has those extras for how much less. Did you consider the B2630 when you bought your B3030?

The B3200 was not out when i purchased my 3030. I Got my 3030 in october 2005.

I did. I wouldn't go the extra $3700 either, but with the B2630 cash incentive it put it even with the B3200, and not needing the extra HP (or vibration;) ) it was an easy decision for me.

You were wise. I had a B3200, no longer do, but the vibration was not an issue on mine. Seems as if your saying all B3200's have bad vibrations.:) If I were to buy another B tomorrow, it would probably be a B2630.

Well, I'm not necessarily saying all B3200's have the problem - since I haven't driven all of them. I drove 2, one was really bad, the other not as noticable, until I drove the B3030 which was very noticably smoother. (dealer didn't have a b2630) Still waitin on my B2630, Kubota's a little backed up this spring and Brady is waiting to get the MMM in or find one at another dealer. Anticipation !!! :licking:

By the way...did I hear you say "If you were gonna buy another "B" tomorrow." That sounds like your trigger finger may be gettin itchy again...:laughing:

WOW, $3700.00 is a big difference in price! In my comparisons here in SE Ohio were around $2500 difference. Thats tractor,FEL, MMM. 3030 vs 3200

Yeah, I have to believe that $3,700 was accurate because he was very competitive on the B3200. I could have gone down to the B2630, but I hated to give up the extra hp. Not sure if they still have incentives on the B2630. My dealer didn't mention it, but I didn't ask either.

   / B3200 vs B3030 #38
Actually, the B3200 has a bit more hp, and I think that extra will make a big difference. Why settle for the lesser B3030?

When I was a kid on the farm, we never had a clue how much engine hp our tractors had. We might know how much pto hp though. Usually it was enough to know it was a one bottom, two bottom, or three bottom tractor, at least in these parts. For a long time we had a small farm, about 90 acres, and we only had 35 dairy cows, or so, but we did all the work of haying, plowing, planting, and harvesting corn with an Allis Chalmers "C". I doubt that tractor even had 20 engine hp, and it was gas, and not diesel. I have more tractor for playing now, than we did for work back then.

It's amazing, I just checked the Kubota site, and they don't even list a tractor weight, or PTO hp rating in their specifications any more! Marketing sure has done it's job!

NO, No and No. My trigger finger is not itching in regards to another tractor. I've just done the 50 hour service on BX2660 and new blades on MMM so it's secure, the BX25 is starting to be a handy item to have around and could never give up the F2680. I'm in for a while. Just going to run these for a while longer and maybe not do anymore trading!:D:D Well, not anytime soon!:) That was a bit of a radical statement.:)

Hi ChuckinNH, if you want to see the detailed specs (on the Kubota website) you have to click on the specifications pdf link on a tractor's spec page. They just summarize it on the first page, but provide more info like weight, PTO hp etc. if you drill down one more level.
