B2150
OK I'm looking into swaping my B2150 with FEL for a B3200 that has a backhoe w/thumb and FEL. I paid 6000.00, 8 years ago with a MMM that I have since sold and put a woods FEL on it. I have many other attatchments that I am keeping. The dealer estimating a swap for 18-19 without seeing my machine or 28.5 clean deal. The problem is it's a HST and I'm not sold on that feature after hearing about all the problems with HST. What are you guys thoughts in the price and HST. The 3200 does not come with a gear shift and would have to go to the L.

What are the problems with the HST? I don't see a whole lot of threads that would be negative about them. I for one never had any issues. If you want to stay with Kubota the L2800 is not a lot larger and it does come in a gear model. JD 790 / Massey 1528 and New Holland TC30 (whatever is the current model #) also are very good gear tractors that are comparable size and HP.

HST is the best thing to happen to compact tractors since the front end loader !

HST problems? What HST problems? I'm perfectly content with mine.

HST problems? I am like the rest..
I have compared my L3400 to the L2550 a relative has in a gear model..
and I would never have a gear model for what I do with mine..

Please expound on the HST issues.

I agree with everyone else not many problems with the HST. The price for the new tractor seems pretty high. You don't say where you are located. but I would check out Used Kubota Tractors Used Kubota Tractors of North Carolina - Carver Equipment in Dunn (NC): used Kubota tractors, used rtv, for sale, mower, backhoe, loader, bx, accessories, bx24, 900, generator, rtv 900, engines, b7100, equipment, excavator, bx23, b21, bx2350, b7800, . You can get alot more equipment for less money. New or used. Carver lists plenty of Demos with new financing rates. I know from personal experience Barlows will sell you a new or used tractor for a price thats hard to beat and will take you trade as well. I bought from Barlows new and I'm 400 miles away. Good Luck.

Ditto! Ditto! Ditto! All 9 of mine have been HST and would never have a gear unless they didn't make an HST. If I was just plowing fields I might have a gear to save the money. With FEL if your going to use it the HST is so much better, faster and easier. Rarely will you find someone that has HST and goes to gear unless it's for money reasons. You'll find many, many that go from gear to HST and never go back. There are always exceptions to every rule but some people also believe no man ever landed on the moon.:) Ask your dealer about these rare claimed HST problems. Ask your dealer about resale of a gear vs HST. Ask your dealer about percentage of HST vs gear sales. We are in an automatic transmission society and you holdouts need to join us!!:D

Well for sure there are 5 who love the HST. have you read through the hundreds of threads talking about all the issues around HST, starting with the rediculous cost of the 50 hour sevice, or the runaway tractors or the the neck jerking when you change directions, or the sticking pedals just to name but a few. Common people there are issues.

You asked for opinions and we told you not to worry about the HST.

Your just getting some bad sampling there. The 50 Hour service is only about $50 cheaper for a gear drive tractor. The neck jerking is limited to 1 series tractor, thats it... and most people are not even aware its a problem until someone tells them that it is.

HST's are much more reliable and easier to operate than their clutch and gear counterparts. Under 50 Hp, its almost all thats sold any more.
