Next up was to find and assemble some replacement angle cylinders, hoses and fittings. The lift cylinder, hoses and fittings were included in the subframe kit so I'm hoping that will work. Total $ for the new angle cylinders, custom length hoses, fittings, pins etc. was about $200.

I didn't figure I was the only one with weld that looked like that. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Great post, I enjoy posts like this. Great job.

The 1-1/2" x 12" angle cylinders are direct replacement, 20" collapsed and 30" extended w/ 1" pins. All fit well, although just what the best way to make the lower mount for the lift cylinder with the stock I have left is still in question. So I hooked up the hydraulics to test for leaks and extend the lift cylinder to determine the lower mount location.

While I was fussing with the hoses, I let my son have at the blade with some safety yellow. Thinking I need to pick up some orange to finish the paint job proper. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I say fussing with the hoses, because this is where I ran into problems and need some help from the fine folks here.

If I hook up the lift cylinder per the instructions, ie., lower lift cylinder port to the red loader valve port, and upper cylinder port to to the blue loader valve port... plus the left cylinder hose to the white port and right cylinder to the yellow port (as in pic), this happens:

- loader lever down extends the right cylinder
- lever up extends the left cylinder
- lever left extends lift cylinder
- lever right compresses lift cylinder

That didn't work too good!

So I swapped things up some as per this pic with, if I remember correctly, the left angle cylinder to the white loader port. Now I was able to get:

- lever up compresses lift cylinder
- lever down extends lift cylinder
- lever right extends left angle cylinder
- lever left does nothing ?

I guess I could keep trying all the combinations until I get it right, but if anyone has the oem plow setup and could offer a little time-saving guidance, I would appreciate it. I wasn't able to pick a quick answer out of the manual. Thanks in advance.

I will give it a try. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Looking at your picture swap the blue and white hoses. Then swap the red and yellow hoses.
If blade does not lower when you push joy stick forward then reverse the hoses that go to the up down cylinder. You want to be able to use the float position when blade is lowered.
If blade does not move to the right when joy stick lever is moved to the right, then swap the 2 angle hoses.

Hey Ron, thanks. To make sure I understand you correctly, I need to clarify between hose colors and loader valve port colors. You can see the loader valve ports have the standard oem colored dust caps as I took delivery.

Only two of the new hoses are colored as signified by the little hose rings (not dust caps), red ring from the lower lift cylinder port and blue ring from the upper lift cylinder port. The left and right angle hoses don't have color indicators so I just named where each went to.

So, if you are referring to the set up in the second pic as your starting point to swap from, and are speaking of valve port cover colors, I think your suggestion takes me right back to my initial configuration a shown in the first valve pic. Did I do that right?

That was the way I was understanding it. (That it brought you right back to the hose configuration in your 1st pic.) Somewhere amongst the cobwebs of my so called brain I seem to remember someone else with a very similar problem. (Only 3 directions working) I've tried searches but have had no luck finding it.
Great job though sir and an excellent pictorial. I look forward to reading it through to it's conclusion.

Regards,
Duber

Hmm, thank you. Now that you mention it, that kinda does ring a [really] old bell here too. But, if I recall correctly, I never saw fit to bookmark the thread because I think the poster found a relatively easy solution. He may have had the old style loader valve without float and swapped valves ?? Thanks for searching, I'll give it a go later tonite but maybe someone will remember.
