Tractor
1982 B8200, HST, FEL, 4' rotary mower, box blade, 5' angle blade, post hole auger
I just got an '83 B8200HST with loader, and it seems like a great tractor, much better than my old gray market Shibura 2wd. The hourmeter shows 680 hours, and since it was an estate sale I feel this is accurate.

I would like to hear from anyone with the same or similar model with observations, tips, warnings and general info.

Thanks

There a gentleman that live near by still has his 1984 B8200 HST w/ the front loader and bush, and he stands by it also the 20hp is great for his needs.
Than there my friend who trade his 1986 B8200HSD w/ front end loader
which only had 650 hours for a New Holland....Yep Jim a New Holland and that was a sad day.

New Holland gave him $8500.oo in trade,I guess he should have taken better care of the kubota??

BMWDave,
I have the same model tractor with a LA350 loader. I use a 6ft. finsh mower on the 3 pt. and a 5ft howse rotory for the ruff stuff. I also put a large (8ft.) back blade on that I use for snow on the driveway and a large Ice rink. I have over worked this tractor and it has done everything I have asked it to do! From major grading to setting 35 ft. telephone poles for lights. I have turf tires and never have a problem with traction even on ice. If you have any questons feel free to ask.

Thanks for the info, folks; I am really enjoying the tractor, especially now that I got the seat to slide all the way back!

BTW the BMW in my user name refers to my other hobby, old (pre 1980) BMW motorcycles.

I have a B8200HST4wd too. This tractor is tuffer than nails! It never ceases to amaze me. It's only 19hp, but does a incredible amount of work with that HP.

Mine has a Bush HOg loader, and turf tires. I do loose traction when the Gold Country red clay gets wet. But, I'm usually not out working then... I also have a post hole auger, roll-over scraper, and 48 rotary mower.

The B8200 is a very stout package. If you compare it to other tractors in its size/hp class, it actually seems very overbuilt.

The only thing I miss sometimes is power steering, especially since the steering brakes on these compact Kubota's are useless.

Mine is a 9200. Yours should be good enough for another 17 years and then sell it for six or 7 grand.

Just remember to change transmission/hyd fluid every 250 hours and oil/filter every 75 and you'll have no problems.

RobertN,
I know what you mean about power steering. I didn't have it on my old tractor and made damn sure it was on the B8200 that I got. It looks like if you could find a parts tractor that had it, it would not take much to add it. I just don't know if any of these tractors ever die and make it to the bone yard.

Take real good care of those hydraulic cylinders on the power steering. I had one bent on another tractor and they wanted $750 for a new one. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Hey Von!
When people ask about my tractor, I was pointing them to the picture of your's on Mike's page! Any idea what happened to Mike?

I have thought about searching out the parts for PS. I think it may be cheaper to put Chevy PS on it :) I need to finish my 3pt tip/tilt first though...

RobertN,
I think Mike's page is still up but don't see any post from him anymore. Maybe he is too busy playing,I mean working with his B2150! I have a small leak in my PS and went to get a seal kit from Kubota and was floored by the price of just the seals ($198.00) When it really starts leaking I'll just take it to one of the places that work on hydro cyl. I'm sure that the seals are a standard size.
