Tires Bar Tread versus turf tires?

I clicked on the site, and read the data, but never did find out the price. Do you remember what a 5 gal bucket cost?

Five gallons was $179, with free shipping. You mix it in a 1:10 ratio. I put a bit over 3 quarts of it and 7 gallons of winter mix WW fluid in each of my tires.

I have a bit over 1 gallon left -- more than enough to "reload" one of the tires, in case of a "catastrophic failure"...

One of the things you have to consider is, if you mix different types of tires, with the same air pressure, there might be a difference in the circumference of the tire, which might give unequal rolling distance. The only way I know how to get the same rolling distance on a set of tires, is to raise up the machine, and put a tape around the circumference of the tire, and add or reduce air to give the same tape measurement on both tires, or all four tires. Try to stay in the recommend air pressure range.

That's one of the reasons why I decided just to stay with what was on it. I didn't really want to buy 4 new ones and was concerned about just buying two. The tread was still pretty close to new -- maybe down 1/8" at most. I swapped the front and rear tires, moving the ones that had already been punctured and repaired to the rear, and then loaded and put sealant in all four.

BTW, my experiment to try getting the lift cylinders to bypass failed though... even with loaded tires and 40lb wheel weights added on the back wheels the rear still lifts in the air, rather than the relief valve bypassing....

If you want the relief valves to function as you want them to, they would have to be adjustable relief valves, and then you could set the relief pressure according to the max load you wanted to lift with out the PT pucker. At one time, I didn't know if my relief valves were working, so I sent them to PT and they tested them. and said they were working correctly. They told me the pressure that they were supposed to relieve, but that was awhile back. A good hyd shop can set you up with adjustable relief valves if that is what you want. and install pressure test fittings at specific locations. I have several test fittings on mine, and can plug a gage in at different spots, and monitor the system pressure. It is very easy to do. You just install a hyd tee in line with what you want to monitor, and add a quick disconnect. Some quick disconnects can connect under pressure, and others will not. I tend to leave the gage in one of the spots, so I don't have to take the time to look for the gage.

Can't tell. It still mows the lawn and did fine last winter. Didn't have enough snow to really tell if it had more or less traction than the stock PT tire. I'll do more testing this winter if we get snow and I'll check the ply rating on both types that I have.
