They are as far as I know Vin. Although I broke 2 of them at the handle so far from over use.

Vin,
I have never used the spring loaded pounders like some folks have....only the solid ones. For our soil I think something like that air powered one in your link would take some of the work out of it.

I will have to see if there is something similar here in the states and what the cost is. I have seen the larger ones used in the vinyards but nothing smaller like that.

thanks for sharing.

Mark,

The solid one like pictured above is still far far easier than a sledge hammer

Yeah, and ask someone to show you how to easily put them on and/or take them off, or else you can learn the hard way like I did. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

JimBrown, Like the looks of your post and brace in the photo. Looks as if the brace is bolted to the 3" angle iron post with one bolt, right? Also how is the brace retained at the ground? Do folks in your area use the same post arrangement for web/woven fence. Was wondering if it will stand that much stretching pressure. When you attach the barb wire to the 3" angle iron do you just wrap it and tie it off? I have about 1 1/2 miles of fences to build. A new highway is bisecting my farm. Thanks.

Eddie, The best fencing tool that I have used is the one made by Crescent. It is available at TSC in our area. DO NOT buy the imports from asia. Not worth taking home.

Vin, If anyone uses a sledge hammer to drive our T posts they best be wearing safety glasses. Don't ask how I know. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Byrd, I've had several small calves go thru my 5 strand barb fence. This is especially problematic with new borns. I've never used the stays but I'm interested. Is the instructions for installing them something that you can explain here or does it require "show and tell"? Thanks.

The stays come in diferent lenghts. You install them like you would use a corkscrew on a wine bottle. Just to make it easier for me I gave them a lite coat of WD-40 first and they were almost self guiding.
