I finally bit the bullet and replaced the corrugated roofing on the barn. It was deteriorated and way overdue for replacement. The barn before.

Sunday evening, we were done, there is still facia missing but the barn is dry and the roof will hold in the wind. I used Masterrib steel pannels from local hardware store - best price I could find - and the color is Patriot Red.

The picture is taken from the roof of the house. I was sore, but it was not that bad, mainly knees and shoulders, it was like making push ups all day long. 28 pannels, 1000 screws plus side trim.

Looks good. Now take a few days off and rest up before you attack the attached shed.

Thats my shop, gotta wait when I have money for roofing

But the big surprise came yesterday, the roof was sporting solid 116 Volts. LOL, one of the screws went through a Romex, flipped the breaker for now but it sure was nasty surprise!

I retired from the local Electric Utility and this is more common that you think. It's good that you found and repaired that. -kid

You made me feel better, thanks! I figured, the statistics are there. I never knew, till I touched it from Alminum ladder.

You gonna love that metal roof compared to shingles. My first barn had shingles they were supposed to be a 20 year shingle but lasted 10 years.Replaced it with metal,no regrets yet.We built 2 more barns since then and both have metal roofs.coobie

Thank you. The steel was $2.30 a foot for a panel 36" wide. Never compared it to shingles, since shingles would require sheathing and underlayment and overall additional weight on the roof. I would rather think that the roof is lighter while stronger than the old one when it was new.

Yes, it is pizza oven, here is a write up:

It needs some repairs now, but still works just fine.
