If you figure out how to keep wet fire ant mounds from clogging the cutter please let me know. The only method I've found so far is called a drought, but I don't really care much for that method.

One thing that will help in damp fire ant mounds is tilt frt of cutter bar up a little so as not cut crop as close to ground.

Try cutting some black land with damp ants mounds. I haven't ever been in around it but helped out a friend last year and dang it was something to get that pasture done. It clogged my blades and every 100yrds had to clean the bottum of mower off and get to the nuts to change the blades was a night mare.

I've got black land. If I ever have a heart attack or end up with high blood pressure, I think it's going to be from yelling and cussing at the stupid mounds that make me get off the tractor, sometimes every 100 yards, to unclog the cutter.

I've tried that. I doesn't help that much. Sometimes I can make a several laps around the fields. Other times it's streaking every 100 yards from the mounds clogging up the cutter bar. I've even tried elevating the bar and cutting 6" off the ground, but that only works in theory.

The only thing I've found so far that seems to help is to make my son in law cut and deal with it. I don't seem to get as frustrated that way.

That black land make you say a lot of curse words and get out haying all together. I can say this it makes me so glad I have what I do and respect those more who do have that type soil.
