battery crud?

This just happened to my new 3016 as well. It was a 2012 left over sitting in the lot for a year. Try not to use baking soda on the battery itself as if this battery has poor fitting posts or caps, some of this could weep into the battery itself and electrolyte and baking soda is not a good mix. Had to take it all down, clean up the corroded terminals, wire brush the battery box, Por 15 brushed onto the battery box as well as the hold down rod. Sprayed the terminals and posts with Battery Saver and used the felt disks under the terminal connections. If it does it again, this battery is gone and a Die Hard is going in. Last one was 18 years old and still going strong.

Be careful with AGM batteries. They cannot be overcharged like lead acid batteries. 15 volts will ruin it in no time. Most old school chargers don't control voltage to charge batteries. If buying a new charger find one that keeps constant voltage.
