Battery Info

My Ram batteries just took a dump.
Both were date stamped “5/22”.

So I got 2 years & 7 months from them. Took them back to where I bought them and got a lot of “dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullschidt” mumbo jumbo that basically said, I get no pro rated money back.
These were DEKA batteries.

So I got 2 more, but he gave me mechanics pricing on them, about $160 each. That’s not bad for my area for 850CCA Dekas.
"Haydude, That's "unfortunately" for you the lifespan I have recently gotten from my last 3 "8 volt" batteries from Napa. These are used in my golf cart and the previous 5 I've gotten have/are still lasting/staying strong. I don't have any idea what changed or when, but I've since changed to Interstate batteries and - so far - they are holding up. I reckon it's "knock on wood time" for any makers of batteries for the lifespan to hold out until at least the warranty period ends!!
Each of the last 3 from Napa lasted until 1 -3 months before their warranty expired and after I replaced the last of the 3; the manager at Napa store told me no more exchanges? Somehow the life of the newest/last battery was tied into the purchase date of the original one! Go figure that one out! I always assumed/thought the lifespan of a battery was based upon it's purchase date!? Silly me, I guess!! Your words - "bullschidt" mumbo jumbo - really does apply!! Sorry for your experience.

Edited after reading Topzides, article of warranty period explanation; if Napa is the same then the manager was right to deny me any more replacement batteries. But - the fact remains that I had purchased 5 other batteries of the exact same type and they are still going strong after "Years" of use and these last 3 just couldn't cut the mustard! So what changed? I still puzzle over that question!

I don't know, but was told the Walmart battery warranty is only honored "if" you have the original sales receipt.

If the battery fails say 3 years 6 months your replacement battery will come with a 6 month warranty.

Still a good deal just save the receipt,

If there was an O'Reilly's near me, I would have tried one of theirs. Big fan of East Penn batteries.
I've had much better service from O'Reilly's batteries than I've had with Walmart. For my JD 100 backhoe I went to TSC for a battery when the OEM died.

Some information given to me by my son: If you have a diesel truck with two batteries, Ford recommends that you change them both if one is no longer serviceable Given this information, Costco will replace or refund both with no argument Just something to consider...

That holds true for any batteries, two or more, that are hooked together.

The weak one(s) will draw the good one(s) down to their level.
My MG used 2 small 6 volt batteries in series to provide 12 volts... being short on cash I only replaced one and never a problem for the rest of my ownership ..

I got a solar charger from a tractor trailer (keeps the GPS charged and active) and figured out what wires went to what, and made a charger out of it about 10 years ago. I had it on my Ford 1100 laying under the steering wheel. I jumped on the tractor and started mowing the yard with the rear finish mower. All of a sudden I hit something that I didn't see in the yard. Turned out to be that solar panel...
Point is, don't forget to unplug whatever you are maintaining the battery with!

Mine were both in the mid-high 11’s and not making much cold cranking amps on my tester
Still don’t understand why I went through (2) sets of batteries in 5 years.
My best guess is shorter than desired trips (too much starting and not enough charging while driving)
