One paper I read said it takes 1-5 years for the urushiol to degrade.

JD put some stupid little bottle with hoses running from the aux couplers to catch the few drops of oil that might be lost. I can't believe for the life of me, that the VERY ecologically minded Germans (except for the automakers) have not addressed this most annoying issue.

Amazon has the BLACK+DECKER LCS1240 40V MAX Lithium Ion Chainsaw, 12" on sale for $91.
It's no stihl or 80V but I've bought two for about $110@ and they are a great bang for the buck.
I just looked on that site and there is also a B&D polesaw that uses the same LiIon battery. It looks like my older 18V NiCad polesaw
and is about the same price as the Lynxx and Ryobi. Still no oiler at all for the B&D polesaw. At least it does not
leak oil.....
I grew up around poison ivy in OH, MI, and MA. Same as PO. Found out the hard way not to burn it.....
I believe the B&D polesaw is 20v battery.I just looked on that site and there is also a B&D polesaw that uses the same LiIon battery. It looks like my older 18V NiCad polesaw

Didn't read too much into it but how are they oiling the chain on the pole saw? Do you
oil it with squirt can?

Many posts. Not sure I'd posted before. We've had 18v B&D chain saws, both a "straight" one and an alligator one, for years. Bought a Kobalt 40v one at Lowes maybe 6 or 8 years ago. Since having an ICD, I'm not allowed to use an engine-driven saw. Gave away my old Stihl back in early 2013. Probably bought the Kobalt then. Had had the B&D ones before that.
The 18v ones don't last long on a battery, but the alligator one lasts the best and is a great saw for small stuff.
We've been very heavily using the Kobalt and the alligator both recently in clearing debris piles made by the May 31 storm last year. Finally got dry enough to get down there with the tractor.
Today, the Kobalt saw quit. Think it's likely brushes got too short. If you have a choice, get brushless, since they're available now, not sure in Kobalt or not. Found a Kobalt 40v at Lowes online for $119 without a battery. Have 3 chargers because we've the grass whip and mower by Kobalt. Just recently bought a replacement 40v battery. Got plenty. The Kobalt chain saw lasts and lasts on each battery, generally around 2 hours of the wife cutting and pulling stuff out of the piles.
