OK, I finally had time to assemble the Kobalt 80 volt weed whacker today, and yes, Doofy, I assembled it on the kitchen table...where else??? Assembly was easy, except the holes on the guard were too small, and I had to drill them out. It works well. I did my dogs' fenced in area, some big steps made of railroad ties that lead to my pasture and some fence lines. I used it for about 1/2 hour and all of the lights for the battery are still lit, meaning it still has most of it's charge. It's powerful enough to take down grass and some pretty big weeds. I'll have to use it more to figure out what angle to hold it so it cuts level, but that's my problem and not the wacker's. All in all it works very well.
I wanted to buy some prefilled spools when I bought it, but they were sold out. I've never had good success in winding the line for any weed wackers, I can never get it tight enough or even enough, so next time I'm at Lowes, I'll see if they have any pre-filled spools and I'll buy several, if not, I'll order them on-line.
And the machine is warrantied for 5 years and the battery for 3 years. Hopefully, I won't need the warranty, it seems like a pretty solid tool.
