Man if I spend $20,000 of so on a tractor, why not $30 instead of $15 on a tender. I don't mean to sound like a bigot, but why not show some American pride if there is a choice? But no one will hold it against you if you buy china made stuff.
OK, time to put my 2 cents into this thread. (Not picking on you doall)
For the most part, much of the stuff we buy is made in China or similar countries. They build to the specifications of the buyer. The same manufacturer will make both cheap and quality products depending on what has been specified/ordered. If a supplier orders a cheap procuct to sell at an inexpensive price, the manufacturer uses cheap parts to accomplish the task. On the other hand, if the supplier (Miller, Milwakee, etc.) sets specifications to be met, the manufacturer will build to those specifications. If they don't, the next guy in line will get the next contract.
To a large degree, you get what you pay for. You don't get cheap tools by using top quality parts. HF and other stores of the same type, make money by selling cheap tools in mass. For them, the cheaper the tool, the easier it is to sell. No incentive there to sell quality.
There are good tools made all over the world, but nowhere do you find quality for cheap prices.
Just my 2 cents worth.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.
