Bear for breakfast

Looked up from breakfast table and was surprised to see a large brown object, and it wasn't a turkey this time but much bigger. He looked rather pathetic as it had just rained.
This is about 12 feet from our porch.

There would have been a large brown object in my wife's pants had she seen that. The black bear is making a comeback in my area. I would love to see one.

So, if a bear that size can casually come right up to your house, I am curious as to what protection you carry when working outside on your property? I am guessing its not the same as for snakes and a possible coyote.:laughing:

Sorry to disappoint about the Cheerios.

Bears can't see very well so my German shepherd was enough to send it on it's way but the .357 Ruger just fired near the big guys also send them RUNNING. They then do what you'd expect in the woods and a whole lot of it.:thumbsup:
