You can't run it backwards ( I think) because a two stroke uses the crank shaft to pressurize the crank case to force the air/gas mixture from the carb to the intake ports. This pressurize mixture also forces the exhaust gasses out of the cylinder after combustion and the downward compression stroke. You would have to put the carb on the exhaust ports and the exhaust on the carb ports, etc...
You would be better off putting an extra gear between the crankshaft and transmission to reverse the rotation.
