best/smallest machine to pull/push big trucks when wet?

Anything short of a ship anchor isn't going to hold. Digging a dead man with a small backhoe would be a lot more effective. 75x20x3 = 4500 which isn't nearly enough.

my 28k would be much better spent on a tractor. I just quit using an AM 5 ton. I don't want another one.

Swamp mats like the power company uses would be best. Get a skid steer or tractor to shuffle them around. Less mess to clean up after.

We used to have to set poles on the road, and we drug the trucks in and out sometimes. The state Hwy dept. and the epa don't like that kind of mess any more.

Dozer is the go to machine however I had a large Lull ( tele handler). Drive up and pick up the rear of the 30,000 pound truck I had stuck in the mud and carry / push me right through it.

Agree that typical tractors won't do. We tried to pull a partially loaded 6x dump truck out with my 45hp and my friend's 110 HP JD (both 4wd) and it didn't budge. After he dumped the rest of his load of gravel and we moved it out from behind him we got him out with the JD.

A flatbed 18 wheeler got stuck on my place. Not bad. Did not dig down but all wheels spinning freely. I got him out easily with a Lull type 4wd off road fork lift. I think it was a JBL.

Seems like a Lull could be handy in your line of work too. The one we had had independent steering too. You just about couldn't get this thing stuck. I tried.

No small machine is going to pull out a heavy truck. We have an international 4800 4wd that weighs about 24,000 lb. We use it in the oil field and have got it stuck dozens of times. If it is not buried at all and just can't get traction we have pulled it with a pickup but when it gets stuck you need a Dozer or a winch truck. We have had it stuck where a 150hp tractor couldn't budge it and we have even had it where a single D5 couldn't move it and used two to get it out.

A few weeks ago I had belly dumps delivering crushed asphalt to my place. One of them dumped too fast and drove too slow and got stuck on the pile. My 13,000lb tracked skid steer couldn't budge it. We had to use a 20,000 lb crawler and it struggled.
