Rolling works pretty well, slow but sure,. also can push each end of a rock to do the final setting of them where you want them. Lift a little and push one end, and then move and lift and push the other end. You can "scoot" a pretty big rock.. I once rolled a large limestone with a little B7500, I bet it weighed more than the tractor. I moved it about 40 foot, took forever, and it was slightly downhill, but I "got-er-done". We have a lot of rocks.. not much dirt, but a lotta rocks.
Had the same issue on my place - suitcase-sized rocks lying around or sticking up out of the ground. What I did was put the FEL flat on the ground right next to the rock, maybe even touching it.
Then, get a digging bar and stick one end under the side or end of the rock and just work it into the FEL. If it's a real monster, you might have to work it in an inch at a time. Works fine. Good exercise, too....
If the rock's stuck in the ground, use the rippers on your box blade to snag it and move it to the surface.
