Big Tree no more

I was bragging to a friend about Big Tree park in Sanford, FL and when I searched it online I found this.
Loser quote of the year:

I have been to that park as a kid. The wifey and I were talking about visiting the park on one of our vacations since she has never seen the tree nor have our kids. They are impressive.

Shortly after we talked the druggies burned down the tree.

Near the park, right along the road, there used to be a pipe that popped up out of the ground. The pipe had running water pouring out of it into the ditch alongside this major road. People would stop and fill up jugs of that water. I think it was just sulphery water but they drank it. :confused2: YUCK. I would guess that road has been widened since then and that pipe and water is gone....

The park is actually in Longwood which is north of Orlando and south of Sanford.

Must have been. Twas a small little pipe, the size that would supply water in a house. It was odd. Just sitting there with people filling up old milk jugs.
