Vermont has the correct conclusion around the 2nd amendment. They recognize that ANY law by the state that controls your right to bear arms is in violation of the amendment. This includes idiot ideas around locking ammunition & weapons while driving in cars, having a ‘license’ to own, or having a ‘license’ to carry. Therefore, Vermont does the intelligent thing and doesn’t even address it! 😃
My FIL lived in Vermont for 67 years of his life until he moved.

My FIL's family came to Vermont in the 1700's.

My FIL passed away ealier this year.

I think I knew him pretty well (my FIL), and I think he would argue that you're missing the bigger picture as to what's happening in the state of Vermont.

Well, maybe 50 rd mags are necessary for militias to save us from the press. Gotta look at all sides. o_O
At the end of the day, be it a bolt action single shot or hi cap mag, if you can't hit your target, does it really matter how many rounds you have?

What if you’re a marksman with a 50 round mag?
hehehe

I had a friend of mine come over and shoot on my range. Ive known him for 25 years, and he grew up around guns his entire life. He was the most reckless guy I have ever seen with a gun. I asked him over and over again to take more care of the loaded gun. He never complied, so I asked him to leave my place. But we’re still friends, but I’ll never be anywheres near him while shooting.

Before Clinton's Assault Weapon Ban, nobody paid much attention to 'Assault Weapons'. Didn't care. Weren't interested.

'Assualt Weapon' sales sky-rocketed. I mean, off the charts. Gun shows everywhere. NORINCO selling cheap guns like crazy until they were kinda, sorta banned.

Then you have people better suited to running a College Newspaper in places of political influence telling Americans they were going to be forbidden to buy something our Founding Fathers INSISTED on us having the right buy. The Faculty Lounge moved to DC.

The 2nd Amendment addresses one thing and ONE THING ONLY. All the other Amendments address multiple concerns about government over-reach (which is entirely what the BoR is about).

So everybody had to have one. Everybody wanted a Rambo Gun. Everybody wanted to have an AR in the closet. Even though they had no business having one.

But they wanted one because, they might soon be unavailable.

Every time one of those idiots talks about banning AR's or whatever, they sell a 100,000 of them.

If politicians of a certain persuasion could just learn to SHUT UP, people might forget about using them as toys, a hobby, something cool to own, something all their buddies have so they have to have one, too.

They are not toys, they are killing machines. That's all they're good for.

We have the right to own one. Or two. Or three or four or five. I absolutely believe in that right.

But I don't believe people should just run out and get one because its cool. But, AFAIC, they have the ABSOLUTE RIGHT to do so if they please.

Personally, if I thought I ever had to defend myself I'd have a double barrel shotgun with #4 buckshot in my arsenal.

I watched an ex combat Marine on TV laugh at the “assault weapon” designation given to the AR-15.
He said something to the effect that “if I was active duty in combat, and you gave me an AR to go into live combat with it, I’d be very under-armed.”
These things are no where near combat level arms

I built an AR after several of my coworkers started talking about how easy they are to shoot, and how much fun they are. I bought the parts as I got the money, and it was fun putting it together. Then I put it in my gun cabinet next to all of the other guns I never shoot... aside from my deer rifle my MarkII .22 pistol has put more meat on the table than any other gun I've ever owned. I finally bought ammo for it last month, soon I will test it out, then most likely it will go back into the gun cabinet and collect dust.

In Dec of 1941, the Japanese considered landing on the West Coast. Probably near San Diego. They were serious.

But they were overruled. The General Staff was of the opinion that, while they could have easily handled whatever air, sea and ground forces we could muster to throw at them, they would have been wiped out by the heavily armed civilian population.

There's a reason why we haven't been invaded in 200 years.
