This is the last episode of stump pulling, I promise. I am just amazed at the ability of the BH90 coupled with a little patience and a plan. It would be fair to say I have beat the snot out of the hoe, far and away beyond what Kubota intended, and still no bent or broken cylinders as yet. I run the engine at 2300 and that seems sufficient, I have never gone wot. Fuel usage is slightly less than 1 USgal per hour. It was 88F in the shade today where I wasn't. The engine temp never strayed from four bars out of a possible eight. I'm fairly content, I do wish the radiator fan pushed the air in the opposite direction, it gets hot in the backhoe seat.
This image is the beast in the hole which is about 10' across, that's an 18" bucket.

here it is broken loose, I subsequently knocked a good bit of material off the bottom to lighten it up.

finally out of the nest, the legs belong to the BIL, not an insubstantial individual, dwarfed by the red oak

slightly different snap showing some wee stones. This is the last stump pic, I promise. I will try to get one of the entire stump pile an stone pile when we finish. This one stump took 4 hours start to finish. So far the project has provided 27 hours of pleasure.
After church tomorrow we will pop the remaining little ones and knock over the remaining 9" oaks and beeches and get the pad graded, maybe even start trenching for the forms.
Thanks so much for looking,
Martin

Well it's me again,
I finished up the hole on Monday night, June 20th. We met with the form man on Tuesday night and he said we would have a foundation by this weekend. I went to the site this morning around 11:00am and, low and behold, there is no form work and no cement poured. I will turn the other cheek (at least while I find my rope).
Here are a few pics compiled between last weekend and today.
I suck at holding a grade, my eyes went along with the hair, so we rely on the transit and take readings often. We used the well cover as a benchmark because it won't move (unless the cement truck makes a liar out of me). The stone in the foreground is so sharp it looks like it was blasted but wasn't and came out just like you see it.
