No offense to anyone, but there are several news reports that can be counted on...

1. Pictures of people driving up to post offices to file their income taxes on April 15th.
2. Pictures of airports, train stations and bus stations the day before Thanksgiving and the day before Christmas.
3. Reports that retailers are expecting lower sales this Christmas season because of {take your pick}. Too hot, too cold, good weather, bad weather, high oil prices, etc.

As long as I can remember, today has been referred to as Black Friday.

I call it Black Friday because i only went shopping on thet day once, 2 years ago, on my first November of being retired, wanted to get my grandson something at a big box electoric store, closest one 40 miles, made the drive in pouring rain, scrounged for a parking spot found the i tem i wanted way back in the store, put it in my cart and (i kid you not) there must have been 100 people in front of me at the check out. so i just left, now i have nothing but BLACK thoughts about that day. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif went back on Monday got the same item for the same $$$$$ and out the door i went. will never go shopping again on that day /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The Black Friday for me was a State trooper pulled me over for going 75 in a 55 mile zone. (I wasn't on my Mahindra.) Maybe I should call it Dark Friday and the state can use Black Friday to the tune of $155 fine. First one for me in couple years. I'll ask for hearing and maybe it will be set for just before Christmas. Surely a state trooper and a Judge would give a guy a break at Christmas time?
