It seems like where we live in Michigan it's rained and been 60 degrees for most of the past two weeks. There's some strange Canadian weather system that's supposedly pushed the jet stream south and won't move. Because of the every day rains we haven't been able to mow since before Memorial Day and the outside world is starting to take on that jungle look. We may have to bale the front yard instead of just cutting it. Wasn't somebody saying this was supposed to be a hot dry summer?

Unless the weather around here gets better pretty soon, we're going to have to start singing the "Blame Canada" song again.

Bob,
That's the same story here in Iowa. Rain and cold. I've been running the woodstove for the past two weeks and it's June!!

Gotta blame somebody. If we keep blaming the TV weather guy he's going to flee to Canada to avoid our wrath. This is some continuing rotten weather. Is your lawn more than knee deep? Mine is /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif.

Donno about the neighbors to the north, bpence, but here in the south the spring has been bone dry for the last 2+ months - - see the Thread, "Another Dry Summer?" I am happy to report though that since I came home from work this afternoon, it has been raining for over two hours with more showing up on the radar loop. I'm sure we've received in the order of an inch of rain - - that will come close to matching our precip for the last 2 months.

And while we had a cooler than normal spring [I was late getting my garden in], it is anything but cool now. Temps are 90ish almost every day. Can't wait till real summer gets here.

I don't want to say to much bad about Canada... The exchange rate is just fine for me/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.

Couple of places it's 15'' or a bit more, with most of it around 10" now. It's been a few years since I've had to bush hog the yard. I just haven't had time to keep up at night during the week, and the weekends have been all day rains. At least the lakes are getting filled up.

I heard on the weather this morning that we (SE Michigan) only had two days in May with "normal/above normal" temperatures and haven't had a full day of sun since May 13th - Mother's Day. I don't remember what the amount of percipitation for the month was, only that they said it was above normal.

If those crazed Canadians would only take their jet stream back, we could get on with summer around here. For our Canadian brethren, "PLEASE TAKE YOUR JET STREAM BACK".

Bob, same weather here in upstate NY. It's cool and raining. We can't even get our garden completely planted because it just keeps raining./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif And it's been so cold the corn isn't germinating, it should be 6 inches high by now!/w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif The yard looks like a jungle, because I can't mow. First we had 3 weeks of drought, now it's monsoon season. What's going on??!!/w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

Bob,

I think that Red Green guy has duct taped the jet stream. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Supposed to be sunny here (according to yesterdays weather). Now clouding over to rain (according to my eyeballs).

It looks like them Christians across the road from me are building an ARC. LOL They don't pay no tax so they have 5 acres surrounding their monestary with grass a foot high. Sad when ya got more than you can take care of. Tax the churches and us who live in sin wouldn't have to pay any.

Was that a lightning bolt that just hit my BX? EG

How about we compromise and you can blame it on Ontario!! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. Here in Alberta we NEED some rain. We currently have approx 20+ forest fires burning and I think 3 or 4 of those are rated "Out of Control". We have lost thousands and thousands of hectares...and saddly some homes too.

This is the most dry winter/spring except one that we have ever had since keeping records back in the 1800s.

I'm praying for rain!

Kevin,

Ontario it is! I heard on our local weather report (the one day we had some sun) that the high clouds weren't clouds, but SMOKE coming in from a fire in Canada. I rememebr you guys having a big fire a few years back and we could see and smell smoke in the air. When you looked out over the hills, you could see a haze in the air like light fog. So, maybe if the smoke is coming here...

Hey Guys! We're saved! The Canadians are building a fire to keep us warm! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

This is all due to global warming, I'm sure of it. And in great part it's the fault of these over-polluting tractors driven by urban sprawl. We should be ashamed. If you're not, just wait for the junk scientists and politcal do-gooders to say so (when it warms up a bit, of course).

Global warming? When does it get here? /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Yoo Hoo! Nice Canadians! I hate to be a whiner, but it's getting pretty hot down here (95 and muggy). Can you guys kick a log off the fire or something? /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Jeepers.....are you guys never happy?! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif Fine. I'll have them shut off the forest fires and see if we can accomodate. Actually our weather here in Alberta has turned overcast and chilly. It is really helping the fight against the fires. Believe they are all under control now.

You guys did it again! Yesterday it was 99 degrees and muggy. Tomorrow the weatherman has promised mid 70's.

Maybe we can get a thermostat set up down here? /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif.
