since you are not splitting.. no real need for concrete.. in fact.. that will just be more to clean up. all you will need is something to help witht he lift cover weight.

i do think it's funny they want to charge you for a split. what a crook!

From what i read in the manual, it says to remove the right food rest, take the cover off the side, and the hydroic pump comes out with the filter attached. Sounds pretty easy so far. I am on guessing them mean by the right side, the side withe the foot cluth. because they refer to theright side when they talk about the location of the fill point for the rear end..I could be wrong trying to fugre out which is the right side of the tractor. Is it while I am sitting on it, or looking at it from the front. haha

Or the right side, is the side with the brakes. Still triyng to fiugre it out, there is a cover on either side of the tractor under the foot rest

i've always like to look at the pictures, pictorals or exploded diagrams when reading the service manual.

a good pictoral can turn a paragraph of giberish into something usefull sometimes.. ;)

Pulling it out today, Yes indeed the screen is full of debree, even paint chips from when the tractor was put together. The filter is almost colasped, and definately bad. With the paint chips in the screen from manufactur, I bet this has never been replaced or changed. Amazing. Unblieveable.

Transmision note on the 1966 Ford 5000.
The 3 point hitch and transmission, in this early model do not share or transfer fluid back and forth like I previously thought. The dealer told me, the noise in the tranny, was either the throw out bearing or the tractor just needed to be used. hahaha, very funny.
Been saving to get a new clutch and throw out bearing. Found out thats not the problem at all. It was two gallens low on fluid, since both 3 point hitch and transmission are closed systems. You have to check each one separately. dummy me, was told and believe they intermingled, and one would fill up the other. NOT TRUE.
It your read my post, Check both fluild level, Check all fluld leverl not matter what the dealer tells you. haha

Thanks for the tip RickB. I used what the dealer sold me, Ambra Multi G 134. The only plug area anywhere on the rear is right accross from the PTO shaft on the left side, sitting down. No plug there,
that plug location is wear the hydraulics are plugged into. I had to remove everything, then use new tape to put it all back. Took 2 gallen back out. I let it drain till it was dripping only, then put it all back together. So it was 3 gallen low. ****. it Wasn't clear anymore mixed with what was in there.
The loader still won't do anything. The 3 point hitch raises up and down, depending on if that black knob under the seat right side, is in or out. Tried the loader both ways in, and out several time. Nothing. Oh well.

And there is another knob, next to that black knob that pulls in and out, which turns, it says Slow and Fast, I think its for the 3way hitch and hydraulics.

yep.. only the later 70's models had common sump like the 5600.. or a dual power model.

my 75 has intermingled sumps.

your dealer should have known that.

I truely believe the dealer, was just plain stupid, unknowageable would be a better way to say it, About the Ford tractors, Not sure what models he dealt in. The Ford 5000 seems to be a odd duck now that I have dealt with is so much. I have the new filter in, the mesh strainer clean, and the pump reinstalled. Took a break to read the torgue settings it says 35 to 44 lbs torgue, will do that next then add the fluid back. Cross my fingers that the 3 point hitch will work once more. Doing this every 300 hours or 24 months will be a real pain in the ***. hahahaha The flex hose it mentions, is actually the independant pto pr3essure hose. Now that is very very difficult to get re attached, I had to get help, couldn't do it myself, two friends spent a hour trying to do it, finally it caught enough threads to be screwed in. Wow. Wore me out just watching them. Caution, the houseing is sharp on the edges, I cut the back of my hand up pretty good.
