Blew out a tire...or something

I don't know that with the condition of this tire that I'd trust a tube in it.

I see these things as a risk/reward situation; in this case the risk is that you put time & effort and a bit of money into tubing it, for the potential reward that that fixes it, but the additional risk that it was wasted effort... vs spending more money for the likely reward that it does fix it. If I was dirt poor I'd likely consider my time not worth as much as the difference in money, but any more it doesn't take a lot before I say "not worth it, spend the money and be done with it". I really don't like having my tractor time interrupted.

Any engineer supplying product to the government (in my case, Army) knows well the "probability/impact" risk tables, that accompany every risk management analysis. Anything that's either "high probability" or "high impact" requires a resolution, and those which are both are usually gating items to proceed to the next phase of a project.

In other words, if you tell them it might blow up and cost them $10M, but the probability of occurrence is low, they're going to want to know what you're doing about it. Likewise if you tell them it's definitely going to blow up many times, but cost to repair is only $100. But if it's $10M per repair and it's going to blow up every 5 weeks, your project ain't getting off the ground.

I got 2 new tires for the front. Went from 96 load index to 118. Tire guy saw the same issue I saw, that size tire comes up as skid steer tires. Anyhow, got the tires and got them mounted for $260.00 total. Never found a valve stem in the tire.

Also scored a Milwaukee 1/2" impact wrench, and it's a beast (also have many other Milwaukee tools). Got it at home depot for "free" after buying 2 6.0 ah batteries & charger for $279.90. Worked great for removing lug nuts. (Wife even knows I got it so don't have to hide it, she was there when I got it).

Thanks to everyone here for their advice on this issue, tractoring is new to me, although I've got lots of construction and building knowledge, I don't know much at all about this. Always willing to listen and learn. Thanks again!

Well, got done brush mowing, came inside to have a bite to eat, then came back outside to find this. Property isn't that rough nor was I on the tractor. Valve stem is gone. 27x8.50 15 tires. 6 ply. I'm thinking 6 ply is a little light but don't know. I think they're industrial grade.

Where do you all suggest getting tires? I looked these up and find skid steer tires. Advice please. Thanks!View attachment 4110664

Colby valve stems. Cut the rubber stem and push the Colby into the hole and tighten it up. I have used them for about 5 years on everything from tractors to trailers and pickups. Have yet to have one fail and you don’t even have to take the tire iff the equipment.
