Nothing a bench grinder and jb weld cant fix. Just kidding. Kinda. I have shimmed worn bearings with aluminum foil.
Sorry to hear the industrial model is a no go. In the early 2000's 4x4 explorers had BS in them and 2wd did not. If you put a 4x4 engine in a 2wd, it vibrated until you removed the balance shaft. If you put a 2wd engine in a 4x4 it worked ok. (Not fixing a Rolls Royce)
They also plated either the electrode or ground strap with platinum, based on which bank they were in. Because the way the spark jumped would only erode one side, since each coil fired 2 plugs.
Not much thought given to serviceability or interchangeability sometimes.

This idea sounds pretty good because you know the minute you shell out big $$ for an engine, a used one will pop up 10 miles away from your house. That's the way life works. If it doesn't, this deal leaves lots of spare parts for sale if you decide to part it out. This could be the cheapest option.

Just a thought, check the fit of that bearing, if it is acceptable buy the tractor in Oklahoma, put the motor in your tractor. Then repair blown motor to put back in the Oklahoma one. If it blows your not out a ton of money. Or it might turn out to be a very reliable 2nd tractor for the least amount of money.

The 2wd deal fell through.
Found it on tractor house for $9900. Thought maybe we could make a deal to get it to Ohio. So I called, but this was when I still thought I could have a brand new engine for $6200.
So I simply asked "any chance of getting that to Ohio for $9k OTD.
Gentleman said "no. I could probably drop my price to $9000, but you're still looking at $700 or $800 to get it to you."
Again, still thinking I could have a motor for $6200, I passed.
Fast forward to what I know now. And that I need balance shafts in the engine, and that I'm up to $7400 ish from dealer ...I am thinking $9800 or there abouts don't sound bad now.
So I called back. Said he would have to reach out and get some shipping quotes. Ok...no problem
. He called back and said $1300 to ship if I ain't in a hurry and wait on a partial load goin that direction. But that could be a month or two. Or $1600 to get within a week or two, just whenever he could get a hotshotter out there.
So I asked so what are we talking total OTD. His reply was "well....$11200-11500 just depends on how you want it shipped.
So I said I talked to a guy a few days ago that said he could sell to me for $9k.
He said...."sorry but best I could do would be like $9400.
So yet again, I passed.
