Block Heater Question???

   / Block Heater Question??? #41
That's funny my truck sits in a stall, my quad and mower deck sits in the middle stall and the 2520 sits in the 3rd stall. My wifes car sits outside.....:D

I feel gut shot. Low blow below the belt. Ok, so my wife wears the pants in the family. But that is only because I let her. I do not feel threatened letting her express herself. Trust me I am in charge! But only expressed when necessary, I do not push it! I must not be a mean dominate male, my manliness is not easly threatened. I am too much of a man for that. I have alway given her the best car, truck, warm garage etc. --Fuse

Mine bring home the bacon. My pension was turned over to the govt, cut between 1/3 closer to 1/2 and health care and insurance gone now. Do not want to talk about it. I am shure that my wife whould choose to be retired and I would rather work. Better one of us at least.

Former UAW worker?
well, even with what you have now is a lot better then most folks have...including me.
I reckon I'll be working until I drop...we've got money stashed...but not enough to maintain the standard of living we want.
Anyway, this is way off topic...

Don't look at it like that! My wife just doesn't want to kill herself climbing over all my junk!!!!! We use her car to run back and forth to work and so on, so it is barely ever sitting here. We work opposite shifts so I almost always have a warm car in the morning... I would have to say on my part for most things around the house that I don't wear the pants!!!!! There was no disrespect intended!!!!

Tractor Pilot,

I was about to post a question and your Thumbnail answered it for me, that is, "WHAT HOLE" does it go in and I see it's the left threaded plug. The JD Parts Catalog Illustration of the PN: AR87167 doesn't reflect the mounting area on your engine or mine on a Yanmar 3TNV82A. A couple of question for you please: Did you drain all the coolant out first before removing the engine plug ? Do you remember what size the tool was to get the Plug out, and lastly, was it hard getting the plug out since I'm limited on tools and that rigid pipe's elbow that is right there, etc.....

I installed a block heater on the left side of the engine block of my JD770. I plug it in about 1-2 hours before I use the tractor when the temperature is 35F and below.

TP... is that the block heater from JD? or did you buy it aftermarket?

My dish is metal, and it melts all the snow. Sometimes some snow accumulates on the arm, but that usually falls off. I used the Ice Zapper dish heater, and it has worked great over the years.

Montana Satellite Supply - Satellite Dish Covers, Satellite Dish Heaters & more!

My old direcway dish had the Hot Shot system that included the LNB arm heater. It also worked great. My new microwave dish doesnt collect snow as it points slightly down.

Around here one trick that works well is to cover the whole dish assembly with a big garbage bag.
Ice/snow really won't stick to poly bags and what little that does simply falls away with the slightest wind (or a slight wack on the mast)
