The gasket is fully intact, it's just the metal clip that goes on the perimiter. I'm not sure if it creates the seal though.

Challenge is the kubota is 22" long, and having to be horizontal, I only have 21" to play with. I need to get the old motor out and see what's what first though.

Tried to pull the drive sheave today. Wasn't very successful. Made a special puller for it. Ended up shearing the bolt in the sheave.

If you didn't have bad luck, you'd have no luck at all.

Well, that didn't work. got 1/2" steel, tapped the angle iron for half inch, snapped thte bolt, welded a new bolt on, destroyed the threads, drilled it out even bigger and put my real puller behind it, impact wrench, bent the mfing angle iron. Pretty soon it's going to meet my big sledge. I also put a torch on it for 10 minutes before each attempt.

If it is being that stubborn I would use a channel or better yet 3 plates welded into a channel shape where the bolt goes thru to eliminate twisting in the puller. Probably a 3/4 bolt too. Oh, and more heat!
