Bolt on bucket teeth

Has anybody ever tried those bolt on bucket teeth for a FEL ? I thought it might help loosen up the dirt before I actually try scooping up some dirt and make it easier on the tractor.

i have a 73 inch bucket on a compact tractor which is a bit much. to top it off I have turf tires. I bought a bolt on toothbar for it recently and the difference is night and day. I tried to dig a borrow pit out in the woods recently and figured I would try without the toothbar. The soil was laden with huge rocks and tree roots. I couldn't get past more than 6 inches with out hitting a root or a rock which rendered the loader completely useless. couldn't even get traction because the soil was damp. I bolted on the toothbar and I was in business instantly. Cut right in to the roots and broke them up while rolling the bucket back. The teeth broke through the soil as if the rock wasn't there. Toothbar is a must for digging through virgin soil. Maybe not a must be it will turn a 10 houir job into a 2 hour job.

Sounds great.Thats what I meant was the bolt on bar.I have a bank I dig soil out of for fill and thought it may help.Your input will make me order one now.Thanks

I bought one pretty much identical to Big Mikes for my L3200. I like the added digging ability and the toothbar is very durable. The only minor inconvenience it causes me is it makes it a bit harder to clean the nasty clays that cake up in my bucket. Don't take that wrong. The bottom of the bucket is where the issues really are. But I end up spending a minute on the toothbar each time I carve the gunk from the bottom. Would I buy it again if somehow this one disappeared? Absolutely. Wouldn't consider another bucket without one.

My most recently acquired implement was a 76" W.L. Long bucket tooth bar. I wasn't sure how well it would work before I got it, but I am now a believer in its effectiveness. As stated above, it's night and day difference.

Does the tooth bar hamper picking up brush in the bucket? My project involves not only digging out the brush and small trees, but also loading them in the bucket to move them to a burn pile.

I think it helps to scoop up brush piles and makes a great rake too!

If you have brush to clear and dirt to dig, you might want to look at this. Tooth Bar

A tooth bar is like owning a whole new tool.
FEL without is really only good to scoop manure and nice loose sand.
FEL with tooth bar is a great root rake, almost excavator, the only downside is back grading with the cutting edge but then the answer is to use the bucket heel (adding an additional wear bar).
Vergin soil with embedded stones si no longer a problem, full scoops every time.
IMHO the bars that sport replaceable teeth are worth the extra few $$'s as you do wear some out especially the corner ones as you tend to work those harder especially if you need to pluck pail sized rocks frequently.

I added a tooth bar to my bucket on the 2320. It makes digging a lot easier. I took it off for winter.
