You seriously have to ask this question?
I buy a lot of stuff from Harbor freight. Mainly disposable items but have had success with things like a driveway alarm.
I've bought chain and cable also. Hard to beat 25% off coupon. :licking:

As a thought after years in manufacturing as a manufacturing engineering manager, a little coolant really helps.

Tap Magic can be ordered from Walmart of all places. It will make the drilling process quicker with better drill bit life.

That is the exact product I recommended in an earlier post- don't drill real steel without it.

Nice! I have Ken's hooks and clevis, and Piranha on my Max 26xl too. Definitely some of the best mods you can do. They really expand the versatility and performance of a standard bucket. Pick up a good chain and some straps and you'll be surprised at things you end up using them for. The Piranha bar does wonders for digging or clearing brush too! Great choices, nice job!

I used my Milwaukee Hole Hog to drill the holes. Start with a pilot and then the full size. When the first hole was completed I firmly bolted the hook onto the bucket. The remaining three holes were far easier - using the holes on the hook to hold the drill in place.

Anyone install Tow Hooks to your bucket? Wondering if they are a good idea or not. They would stick forward a bit, or could be installed on the back and stick up. I have a couple already, and they are cheaper than the bolt on hooks.

Can’t post a pic so hopefully you know what I mean.

Are you referring to something like these...

Yes you probably could if you can get both mounting holes on same flat surface.... BUT from me, a "grab" style hook is better choice....

That’s exactly what I mean. But if the grab style is better I guess I’ll stick with those. Thanks

I prefer the slotted angle iron welded to the top of the bucket. The hooks are generally only useful when chains are used in front of the bucket but with angle iron the chains can also be run in back of the bucket.

+1 on the slotted angle. Much more versatile in most situations.

I also prefer chain slots. Put them in my brush fork frame with a drilled hole and cut the slot with a recip saw:

And in the pallet fork frame on the back of the bottom channel iron:

I like that, wish I could weld. Guess I could take it somewhere or bolt it on though

I finally got around to installing the bolt on hooks I got last fall. Install went real smooth. No fancy drills needed, just step-drilled the 6 holes nice and slow with good US made HSS twist drills. Took about 10 minutes including de-burring. Put the clevis mounts on the bottom too so I can hang shackles.

I've already put them to hard use and couldn't be happier. Thanks Ken!

Thank you CD.

I don't have a slotted angle iron version but someone else made a good point about another of their features that could be handy occasionally:
You can release the chain connection by rolling the bucket down and backing away.

I recently installed two bolt on hooks from Kens bolt on grab hooks

The hook were high quality.

Two things to remember:
1) Drilling 4 holes took nearly 1 1/2 hrs. I'm sure this was due to going through 2 plates of metal on the bucket. My wife and I took turns. I used an electric drill and a Cobalt High-Speed Steel Drill Bit (1/2" x 6"L).
2) Going slow speed on the drill allowed for a better bite on the bit and straighter hole. The last hole I used highest speed and the hole ended up wallowed and not straight.
3) The placement of the hooks made if difficult to get one of the nuts and washers on the bolt. Needed my wifes small hands to reach behind the compartment.

I still need to put two bolt on shackles on the bucket will wait for next week and a new bit.

To follow up on the drilling issues I believe the problem was that I used three 25 ft extension cords which I believe lowered the amp output on the drill. The second time I did it I brought the bucket close to the outlet and had no problem drilling
