I'm in no hurry..What should I wait for?
The new Canyon... Like in the pics.

I hear what ya saying.LOLThat would get the job done. It looks similar to a Go Rhino. I put the Go Rhino PD pit bar on my Suburban. It helps me get back to GA a little quicker. The left lane clears on the interstate when I'm seen in a rear view. LOL.

What was reason behind going to F150? Looks like F250 was the gas 6.2. Which engine you go with in F150?This is a pic on my 2011 ford F-250 I bought sticker was $53,000 I bought it for $44,000 less discounts.Still crazy prices.I have since sold it and bought a F-150.
The F-250 was the 6.2 motor had a lot of grunt.I was headed to retirement and did not need the F-250 so it was sold.I bought a low mileage 2006 F-150 with the 5.4. motor.Been a great truck so far. What was reason behind going to F150? Was the F250 an "extra" vehicle or daily driver? Any particular reason you did not seek out an older gas F250?The F-250 was the 6.2 motor had a lot of grunt.I was headed to retirement and did not need the F-250 so it was sold.I bought a low mileage 2006 F-150 with the 5.4. motor.Been a great truck so far.
I had a company truck so the F-250 was more of a weekend cruiser.I do haul 4-5 tons of wood pellets a year(to heat my house) on my 20 ft trailer plus my 40 hp.tractor so the F-250 was nice for that.I now have a 2006 F-150 super crew 4X4.Mileage comparsions F-250 13.9-14.5mpg city/highway-F150 13-14 mpgs. I have retired & I agree with your friend,Better everyday truck. Was the F250 an "extra" vehicle or daily driver? Any particular reason you did not seek out an older gas F250?
Reason for so many questions is I keep thinking when I decide to make my next truck purchase to move from my current 2004 F150 super crew 4x4 with the 5.4 V8 to a F250 crew cab 4x4 gas burner. Always interested to hear why one goes from F250 to F150. A friend who did same thing said best way he could explain his move was the F150 was a better "everyday" truck for him and the newer F150s are getting close on tow ratings.
Had to buy another 1/2 ton truck as my Tacoma was awesome, just a bit too small for what I needed. Sure gonna miss it and wish I could afford to keep it as a backup truck. I traded it in on Tuesday and a guy was there buying it yesterday as I was picking up my new truck. All they did was give it a good wash and it didn't sit on the lot 24 hours before it was gone. So far I like this new Z71. Worlds better then my 2011 I had.

I'm in the market for a new truck. I'm starting to narrow it down to a 2015 Chevy 2500HD crew cab Z71 with the gas engine. Everyone's right about sticker shock.
OP, how's the quality on the thing? Fit & finish, electronics? Edmund's consumer reviews were griping on electronic gizmos not working. I owned Chevy's from '99 thru 2011 and didn't have issues, I wonder if the bankruptcy & reorg messed them up?
btw, we saw one in the parking lot of the local home supply store over the weekend. It looked nice, but the cab seems to have shrunk? Interior looked smaller than our 2012 Ram Quad Cab? :confused3:
Most are made in Texas, including suburbans. HS
They sure are, on my third one, first two came from Wisconsin plant, current one is a LT Z71 4x4, Texas build, but I miss the 2500 4x4 it replaced. Looking at the new 2015 model. HSSuburbans are the national car of Texas.

Is the cab as quiet as what I am hearing? Have heard several comments that this truck is the quietest vehicle they ever drove.

I bought a 2013 4x4 Silverado Z71 1500 crewcab truck last Memorial Day and am still liking it. Have not had a moments trouble with it.... yet. Does your truck have the 5.3L V8 with the AFM in it?? That engine has had some issues with excessive oil consumption in the past (google it). I don't know for sure that GM has totally fixed it as of 2014. I played it safe and bought a AFM disable module, so mine always runs in V8 mode. In theory I *shouldn't* have to worry about the excessive oil consumption issue. Here's a pic of it the day I bought it: Here's a picture of it now  :
Where did you purchase the afm disable module. Just got my 2008 back from the dealer after replacing all pistons due to the excessive oil consumption issue. Sounds like they make the corrections in the 2011. Most people don't change their own oil, i do. Was burning over a qt of oil every 2000 miles. Oh and GM says 1 qt every 2000 miles is considered normal...what a crock.
